You need wardrobes but everything else I would wait until you get your stuff out of storage or you may find you can't fit all the stuff in. We are putting supply only fitted cupboards in our 2nd bedroom which are very reasonable. If you are not a diy person you can employ a carpenter. If you have an alcove in either of your bedrooms this is ideal.

Thanks enthusiastic . Is that like a fitted wardrobe?

I'm in the flat now . The sink actually looks better than I thought .
The main bowl is about the same size . The drainer is ok, just seems a little smaller. I think what threw me was the actual drainer part where the grooves are ..that is smaller and dare I say trendy looking in design .
    It's growing on me .
Waiting for mr. Carpet to turn up and discuss carpeting the flat.

Received an envelope from d x ( my fan from qvc) . Not a sorry I missed you card . So I have options to arrange delivery . DX used to be a good useful co. Back in the day. Like most things , the bigger they are the more
    Crap they are .
I think I'll rearrange appt with dentist . That means I can carry on with the painting . Makes sense

Yes they are actually fitted cupboards and you can get stand alone cupboards or drawers to match. My DH is quite handy so he is fitting them himself but my daughter had a carpenter install hers at her old house. Loads of companies do them and they are a fraction of the price of fitted cupboards supplied by companies who come out and do the whole sales pitch to install them. Great for small houses and flats because no wasted space but you need to make sure you measure accurately. Your guy James may know a carpenter if he is in the trade.

Hope you get a good deal on the carpet. I have just spent the last 8 hours at a retirement seminar. My head is crammed full of facts and figures now. Counting down the months now until I go.

Fitted cupboards/wardrobes are nice, but heaven forbid, if AC has to move again in a few years he can't take them with him, so I wouldn't do that.

Saw mr . Carpet a short while ago. Nice guy, lives up the road .
You may say the price is high, but there are a few things to mention:
I went for something midway price wise. Not the cheapest, but quality is good . If I can roll up carpet, the guys will take it away .
Price including quality underlay , fitting grips etc.
Not far off £1k . A few hindered cheaper than carpetright .
Looks like I will have it layed on Monday week .
    Awaiting email confirmation etc.

You're sounding a bit apprehensive about work AC, maybe you could think about trying something completely different to your old career. Maybe even something in the tourist trade considering where you now live.

    eta

Did you see the new Sarah Benny programme about living mortgage free- I thought you'd make a great candidate for that.

    I nearly overlooked this .
Yeah , I've seen one or two of those programmes .
Yes, maybe I couldve been a candidate for it .
I've been on telly a few times in different guises , but don't know if I'd like to be the focus :)

So I'm awake , with a purpose..to paint another room!
Thought I'd cancel tomorrow's hygienist appt.
Now rescheduled for June . Now I have to find out about when I'll be having whitening and bridge / implant discussion .

I'm not sure if I have enough rollers for painting .
I'm hoping I don't have to rush around for rollers.

Had to go to poole for rollers etc. Ended up doing some food shopping.
I then decided to give kitchen 1st coat. Trying to get in the gaps of the kitchen cupboards is a p i t a .
Will do next coat tomorrow morning.

Just as i literally finished, the doorbell rang. It was the chap from the blind company , who is coming to assess my flat for quote.

    Price includes supply and fitting:

Shutters for 2 rooms and 1 venitian blind for gasroom £3,300
Venetian blinds for whole flat £950
If they can fit before bank holiday weekend, then i will go for it.
    (The blinds not the shutters)
