  • Hi AC
Just popping on to say well done mate :D
All looking so positive and you "sound" happy and more content with things now.
Great to see your gym discipline is becoming "locked in" as we say.
I really believe that a good gym work out has more than just physical benefits, that the benefits are also spiritual, psychological and emotional.
Keep on keeping on mate, you are doing grand :D

    Thank you sir :)
Being very namby Pamby at the moment . 1 set on everything plus the walk to from the gym. Will get there . Just had a long session in the pub . No complaints :)

Hello AC. Well done on everything. I have just started the GYM at the grand old age of 66 - am on a Sit Less project for oldies to see if a structured exercise programme will make us more supple etc. I am delighted to have been chosen as I was a chicken about going. I hope to continue beyond the 3 month programme and make it a habit. Could you describe a typical gym session for yourself? See if it sounds like what I am doing?

    Thanks
    John

Thank you John :) did you say sitless? :rotfl:

Fair play to you for doing it . At my fittest ( 11 years ago) , I was doing a combination of Pilates / yoga/ weights / cross trainer/ bike. Etc
At the moment , it's all machines ( legs/ chest/ arms/back / shoulders) . Not done any stomach work yet, but will eventually do at home . The Swiss ball is good for that .
Loads more, but you get the gist :)

Thats right - Its called Sitless and I am looking at it as a way into becoming a Gym attender. Going well so far - Lost 1st by my own efforts from being 18.5st in August last year and in the 2 months I have been going to Slimming World and 4 weeks at the Gym I have lost a further 23lbs. I am delighted.

  • Great stuff John !:)

I was gonna go today, but it is very humid . I decided to go to the barbers instead .

Funny thing : it's my second visit to this barbers , and I saw he same lady as last time . I felt a little stupid , when she asked what I'm doing today. I told her briefly that I've just moved into the area and am taking a year off etc. What I could've said is im going shopping or something . Anyway , ( I always tip ), the price of my haircut was very cheap. I think that she must think I'm a pensioner or something .
Those steroids must've aged me somekwhat .

So the plan is to tidy up . I feel relaxed sitting here by the fan .
I'm trying to find the motivation to budge . Maybe later:rotfl:
  • I think Friday was the anniversary of me getting 2 bids for my last place that I sold . I remember getting an offer on the Thursday evening, with one more viewing the next morning .
Then I had another offer. I don't know if anyone saw the last series of cold feet ( the episode where the lady says she's pregnant ).
I was taken aback when the second bidder lifted up her top to show me she was pregnant . I just came in from work at the time :rotfl:

I was checking the places to let in the area. Reason being , one of the flats opposite me in my block is vacant and are advertising looking for new tenants . They want £850pcm for the 2 bedroom .
It's an upstairs flat . Spooky thing is, the bathroom tiles and the kitchen cabinets are the same as mine was .

Also, noticed my ex landlady wants £850 pcm and is looking for new tenants also. Looking at what she has done to it, it is more suitable for a great grandmother . Over cluttered also.
When I was there , she was gradually trying to incorporate her mums cast offs into the flat when I was there. The rugs etc. It was supposed to be unfurnished but we mutually said part furnished .Then she started her antics . I have seen her passing by a couple of times while I'm in my flat . If she says hello, I will also :)

Blimey, I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay £850 for a flat that looks like a granny flat!

Mind you, having said that, I was recently looking at holiday lets and for the week I was looking at, there were some really nicely decorated places for around £650. Then I came across one that looked like it hadn't been updated since an old person lived in it back in the 70s, and they were asking £750 for that week! Mad thing was, I looked at other dates, and they were fully booked!
  • Yes , the housing market is pretty mad really .
When I decided to let my brothers 1 bed flat out in Twickenham
( via estate agent ) back in 2011, it was for £800pcm.
It's opposite the green , next to all the shops etc. I think it was even a shop itself at one stage. It has a nice courtyard .
He had 2 sets of tenants . Back in 2014 I think ( he had my brain noddled), he put the rent up by £50 pcm. The tenants started playing games and throwing tantrums . When my brother moved back in in 2015 it was a relief . If I had let my flat out instead of selling, theoretically I was looking at £12-1300 pcm . So, £850 in Poole seems reasonable .
  • A strange few hours .
I mentioned mad brother . He gave me a FaceTime call..ladted2 and a quarter hours . Worn out ? Absolutely . He is one of those people who doesn't phone anybody . Nobody can reach him till he can be bothered to answer his mobile . When you do get through to him , he goes on and on . You can't interrupt him as he forgets everything .
Then has a conspiracy theory about all the help you give him .
He repeats a story that he has told a thousand times etc.
Having said that , there wasn't anything argumentative too much this time around . I've had worse phone conversations with him.
He is thinking of moving one more time . He loves Twickenham , but mentions maybe going somewhere quieter .
He can come here to visit . That's all .If he rains on my parade I will emigrate to Syria if necessary .

I managed to watch my new fave programme cash trapped .
    If I was working I would've missed it .

I then said to myself , it's time to mop the floors . I bought one of those fold up buckets from wilko , plus a strange mop like thing from vialeda. Big mistake ! The bucket eventually worked out .The mop?
Worse than crap . I used white vinegar and water.
I say water, but I had to reset the boiler. No hot water. I had to reset it two weeks ago. All working fine, for now.Trouble is im on a water meter, so I'm angry at how much water was wasted . Hope that nothing is wrong wiyh boiler. I'll make enquiries in the in my home section . So my kitchen smells a bit like a chip shop. Dettol later.

Will have to tidy the flat ( major stuff ) tomorrow .
  • Being busy last Saturday , I was in Poole doing a bit of food shopping
I knew I was running very low on coffee . Since I've been in Poole I got used to Sainsbury's own brand . Cheap and cheerful .
I got Marks and Sparks coffee. Same strength . Jar was smaller.
Anyway, I just had some . It is like cats p@@s. So vile .
That's gonna be for guests only now.
