TBH I would always prefer to look at complimentary medicine and holistic therapies rather than pump myself full of drugs, and if I can postpone or even forego knee surgery then I will do so. I have no desire to go under the knife........;)

One of my grandmothers was a herbalist and the other one was a midwife......back in the days before the NHS when most ordinary folk couldn't afford a trip to the doctors. They were both extremely knowledgeable and more or less looked after the poorer members of their communities.

I learned a great deal from them and have both treated and "cured" my family over the years. Just a pity I couldn't help my husband although I did manage to give him a years extra mobility through a fairly intensive exercise and Physio regime and an ultra healthy diet. . His consultant was very impressed by how we managed to slow down the progression of his illness. So yes I am very open minded about trying less invasive treatments first.

Your sister is quite unwise not to try and help herself more, not least because The medics are always delighted when a patient is pro active and takes more responsibility for their own self care. They seem to redouble their efforts to help and try even harder for us when we put in a bit of effort too.

So today I went to dentist . They will replace 2 crowns and next week will be approx 2 hour appointment as they make a temporary replacement for a bridge. The annoying thing is that the dentist is on holiday after next week . It means I have to have an extra week with a temporary tooth ( 3 weeks instead of 2 ) .

Just started tackling the important stuff in the boiler room .
There is room Now to plug in my bass and wire up computer etc in the next day or so . Th room is not far offf being ready .

Moved crates that I'm selling on fleabay in the hallway . I had a guy ask me if I could end auctiion early . Not sure. Nobody has bid as yet and I have 16 watchers or so . I asked if he had a buy it now price and he never answred that question . No bids yet 99p start price.

Liaised with James today . He's coming over tomorrow at midday .
I have a couple of jobs I need done . I made the right decision to keep my old seperates system as we all know . I need either shelving for it under the tv or a cabinet . That's the main one , but there are others .

Still not heard from payplan . I haven't much time in theory as Barclays want payment by 28th of this month for example .
Looking again at the Santander letter . I think I should've replied to it as the enclosed form was just asking me to update my new address with proof . I'm slightly confused as I thought payplan s security questions were enough. Haven't received any other letters from creditors . I would expect to hear more next week,or I'll have to contact payplan by this time next week for reassurance .

Looking for clocks st the moment . No , not a wind up but a fairly chunky digital one that can be wall mounted . Need 2, as the living room and bedroom are awkward shapes .
  • Just saw James . We had a quick cider . He will be doing some jobs for me . He is on holiday from weds . There's no rush as I now don't have to keep over thinking and procrastinating about what needs doing as now I know. James was impressed with the progress he saw since the last time he was here . That's great . He said there's been a big improvement . There were times as you know , that I thought I was just running / walking around in circles , so it's good to know .
I've just got to keep tidy , and keep up the momentum .

Got a bid of 99p on the plastic crates . Not from that guy . Bidding ends on Sunday . This time next week they should be gone .
    So far so good :)

Hey AC. Where are you. What are you up to.

Well the third anniversary on Thursday was a bit grim as expected but I dragged myself out and met a new friend from "Jolly Dollies" a widows group I joined recently. The good thing about spending time with someone who has been through the same loss is that they "get it". They have walked in my shoes so they understand how it is. I can let my guard down and let my emotions show and they won't be embarrassed. They can truly empathise.

Losing our parents is also rough of course but it doesn't really compare.....anyhoo the day is passed and done.

Did you see the meteor shower last night, despite the city light pollution I got a good view. Quite a spectacle. I bet it was fabulous at the coast looking out to sea.

Tomorrow I am off to stay with a friend in Coventry for a few days. Should be fun.

Any news on the settlement front. Anyway good luck with it, have a good week.
  • Hi LL :)
I was out with my friend and his family last night and we all
felt rough this morning . Not too bad . Saw them again this afternoon
Shame I missed the sightings. Would've been great seeing it .

My crates are sold on fleabay. I had a few ( sometimes stupid) questions to answer. With 49 seconds to go, the bidding was £6.49..sold for ..£30.00 . I will have to be up early to empty as many extra ones as I can . I stated that there are at least 8 and there would be more . I've got to try to not leave myself too short . However, it will be nice to make more space in the flat . Next time I move, I'll get
a professional removal co to deal with the whole lot .

Glad you're meeting other folk LL , and hope it all works out .
Hope the break in Coventry does you good, which I'm sure it will.
I'll have to start venturing out myself soon and getting involved .
Big steps , and a bit daunting .we'll all get there in the end :)

I am pretty sure the meteor shower will still be visible tonight, weather permitting, it's just that last night was supposed to be the best opportunity.
  • Well done in your eBay crates AC. Not having much luck with my charity selling on there, so many watchers , so few bids. Never mind.
  • Thanks worrier:)
Sorry to hear that your Ebay is slow . Think I got lucky there.
At last I can move in the hallway. 1st time since I moved in , have I seen a clear hallway .
  • Today has been a special day .
I was having dental treatment for approx 2 hrs . All good.
When I go back in 3 weeks, all will be done bar the 6 monthly checkups.

This leads me onto payplan .
I received an update . The deal was, nothing has changed except that I was given a deadline from creditors as to when the settlements be paid. No problem . Wescot have still not decided. ( balance £5,674.36
    Offered £2,270.00 . They will accept £4,824.00)

So I jumped on a bus , went to nationwide and paid £8,209.15
This means that only wescot is outstanding .payplan are still trying to get a better deal..
Whatever figure gets put before me , I will pay asap and everything is clear .
I have more than a years salary left over and will cut back and the party's over as from Monday .

    Very important day ;)

    Congrats AC
Now you have to find yourself an income. What are you entitled to? any unemployment benefit or because of your illness? Maybe a part time job doing something you fancy. Teaching the guitar ?
