  • Hi harz and everyone :)
How are you all doing ? Me? Well , not a huge amount .
Surprisingly payplan haven contacted me since . I assume they are fairly confident that they can get wescot to reduce the amount payable that I owe . Also it's holiday time so I've just got to wait a little bit longer . It may have something to do with it, it may not .
Great figure whatever I'm left with .

Had a strange few days . Not the greatest tbh . I felt it humid and uncomfortable for a few days , combined with a sickly feeling and weakness . Plus I was procrastinating for a while about how I'm gonna tidy up and the best way forward . I let the place turn into a pigsty for a day and a half . That hasn't lasted long . The living room is now finished apart from one thing ..the tv area. I've put the speakers back in and removed the soundbar . The stands are not there though, ad I have 2 nice shelves that hold my 12"and albums . The speaker are on them and fit perfectly . All I need to do is sort out a unit that fits the bill that will fit my seperates and those set top boxes and wires .
The wires are not as bad as before because of the shelving units but still need to be tackled .

The bedroom has quite a few boxfiles in there for the time being .
The plastic crates are in there also . I've put them on fleabay though and want to empty some more out of the other room so they can go as extras in the lot I'm offloading .
I need to tidy that room up also. Probably tomorrow .
In a way , it's not too bad overall: bathroom / kitchen / 100% done
Bedroom about 80% Boilerroom about 65%! Living room 95%
I may ask James about shelving or something . Something tells me he's still on holiday . I'll send him a text in a couple of days, to arrange a beer at least . Sometimes being on your own is great, sometimes not so great when you need things done and are a bit unsure what route to take .

Couldn't go to the gym yesterday or today, due to rain . Not happy .
Also peeved that the dentist asked me to change my appointment from tomorrow to Thursday . That means no gym Thursday . So it's one step forward, and two steps back . However, I will go for a walk tomorrow morning to keep momentum going . May do Thursday as well .

Had a few ciders with my friend on sat .

Regarding things in general : my friends and one of my brothers ( not that one ) , are a bit concerned that I'm leaving it too long to look for employment . They understand and agree with part time . Cool.
However, healthwise im not ready . Initially I was gonna be like a magician and everything was gonna be done in 6 months . Most of the other stuff has been done . Hooefuly the job will come when I'm ready
That's another thing: I'm not sure what kind of job it will be , or whether I coiuld do,something different . I'll have to think about that over the next few weeks. My friend on sat asked me what I'd really like to do. I told him I just don't know . Other than that, all' good

    Hi Ac.

Oh dear, Sounds like a slight case of the "negative nellies" at work. I think you are probably just a bit tired.....you have been very very busy. Maybe you just need to take a few steps back and indulge in a bit of r&r.

I do think that once you have your flat organised and neat and tidy you will feel less overwhelmed so just keep at it. You'll get there.

Just a quick question ......why can't you go to the gym when it's raining? I realise you walk there but unless it's actually a monsoon then a bit of rain isn't going to hurt. Invest in a raincoat and an umbrella and stop looking for excuses. :rotfl:

Remember.....there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.

    Re the work........

There a number of options. It all depends on what you actually want and what you can realistically cope with.

So first do you want a career or just something to pay the bills.

Do you want to be stretched and challenged or do you want to coast.

Do you want to learn new stuff or just rely on your current knowledge and skills.

Can you manage full time or would part time suit you best.

I still think you should look at ways of using your interest in music to help you either find a nice job you will enjoy, or, If that's not feasible, then just take a nice easy part time job to cover your living expenses and then try and build yourself a nice little sideline business using your music skills.
  • Hi LL :)
Hope all's well . Yes it's true what you say , I did get a bit overwhelmed and still do . Need to stop overthinking and relax a bit more . Most of my raincoats and waterproof stuff is stuck in the wardrobe in the boiler room . I'll have to retrieve them . It's like the krypton factor trying to get stuff out of there at times . Strange weather. Too hot to wear a coat imho . I'll see if I can find something suitable . What I do at the moment : walk to gym in tracksuit / do excercise/ walk back then jump into shower.

Work ? I prefer to do something easy and coast tbh.maybe something boring in an office like filing . However, i may look at doing a course in something to keep the remaining brain cells active .
Next year i'll go into a few agencies and chat with a new updated cv and a covering letter. That may be better tgan just the usual way of sending direct online .
Feel groggy today,as i woke up around 4 30 am . I put radio on . Fell asleep around 7 then woke up at 8.30 .
    Have a good day :)

I think an agency is a good way to go, you cant beat face to face. Then they know you a bit and you aren't just a name on an electronic CV which can be easily ignored.

Would you consider temping......it's often a way to get your foot in the door. Plus of course it helps you weed out the places You know you would just hate. And it's a good way of gently easing yourself back into work and not risk overdoing things until you know you are fully fighting fit.

    I'm doing ok thanks.......sort of. ;)

Tomorrow is the third anniversary of my husbands death so I have been a bit up and down too. And, like you, when I have a sleepless night it makes me feel rather drained and lethargic. And of course the rain and grey skies don't help much.

I have been trying to walk a bit more to build up my knee again.

The gym I joined had a fire and was closed for a couple of months. It has just reopened. I am going away for a few days next week to stay with a friend so I am aiming to start the gym again the week after next. I have two free sessions with a personal trainer so I will book one and hopefully they will be able to devise a programme which will help strengthen my knee as well as improving my general fitness. I definitely want to start some resistance training as well as Pilates or yoga.

On the home front we have nearly finished my new bedroom. Just a few final tweaks now. I priced up mirrors and light fittings and nearly fainted so I decided to start scouring the charity shops for things I can cannabilise. Picked up a nice big solid wood mirror for £8. I already have the paint to give it a revamp. Better than paying £60 for something that frankly looks cheap and tacky and seems to be made of some sort of molded plastic.

Today the house is a tip so seeing as it's raining I'll crack on and get on with a good clean up. For the next couple of days it's best that I keep my hands busy and my mind still.
  • Everything seems to be going in the right direction for you LL.
Obviously , you will be a bit down a couple of times a year for obvious reasons but you'll bounce back soon . There is only so much you can do with the knee and your instructor will know what's right .
Accupuncture is great . Not sure if you believe in it tho.

I bought a cheap mirror from wilkos. A long tall one .£25 inc.postage
My friend thinks it suits the flat .

Yes, i've temped a few times . Most led to pernanent roles .
I'd be a fool not to consider that .

So what's happened this morning ? An insect that looks like a beetle managed to escape into a bathroom tile . How the blazes it did ,I have no idea. No sighn of anything else yet .
I need to givebthe place a good vacuum . I have stuff in the hallway that needs to go. Just as I was gonna vacuum , the power cuts out so i'm now recharging it.

Had a letter from Barclays accepting f&f offer. Needs to be paid by 28th of the month. Also had a letter from santander asking me of proof of address. It came with a form ,similar to a means testing one .
No,point filling that in if I'm gonna settle .I will scan and send both letters to payplan shortly .

I did the same for our bedroom mirror. The wall it's on is painted aubergine, so I wanted a mirror with a black frame. Found an oval one, with a gold rococco style frame in a charity shop, and sprayed it black. It looks fab, and I've seen similar ones selling for £60+. My mirror cost £7, and a few quid for the paint. Absolute bargain!
  • That's cool gigervamp :)
I've only got that one mirror at the moment . Just need to get a cheapo one for the hallway .

Just sent a scan of the letters from Santander and Barclays to payplan
I'll have to go onto their website . I'm not sure if I did the right thing by sending direct t the case officer of the settlements team . I'd best check after I've logged in etc

Yes I've had acupuncture before on my back and found it very helpful. I might look into that.

The consultant has advised me to have a steroid injection before I go on my big trip next January so that I can enjoy my holiday. Thoughtful of him. And of course he said I can go back and see him any time if I need help before then. I can bypass the GP, just ring his secretary.

So yes acupuncture might be a good interim measure, never thought about that. I am taking glucosamine and omega three supplements and they seem to be helping.

Good luck with the settlements. I'm sure you will feel better when they are all sorted.
  • Thanks LL:)
Yes glucosamine is good for the joints . I think,it was glucosamine sulphate capsulsesI was taking a while back .
I took to acupuncture right away . I always say to people , give it 4 sessions. If after that it doesn't work for you, then quit .
My sister has lots of trouble with her knees . When I mention acupuncture , it's in one ear and out the other . Some people are not as broad mined as others I guess :)
