I like Sainsburys own brand coffee too AC. We don't do instant coffee that much though since getting a Dolce Gusto coffee maker. It uses pods though which initially we thought were really environmentally unfriendly but our local recycling centre now takes them for recycling. Expensive way though of drinking coffee although cheaper than coffee shops.

Intrigued by your folding bucket??? Never seen one of them. Flash or equivalent is my friend for washing floors. Lovely lemony smell. Pleased to hear you are keeping an eye on the budget for food and household shopping though ;)

  • Hi enthusiastic :)
The folding bucket , is basically rubber and flat . When you put your hand in the middle, it expands. Then it's collapsible when you want to put it back . I got it as a space saver from wilko
I used to buy the ground coffee and cafetiere . Don't need that now.

No gym today as it's humid . Back tomorrow for remainder of week tho

If I had a cat, it wouldn't use it in a litter tray . It'd be chucked back at me ;)

Being busy last Saturday , I was in Poole doing a bit of food shopping
I knew I was running very low on coffee . Since I've been in Poole I got used to Sainsbury's own brand . Cheap and cheerful .
I got Marks and Sparks coffee. Same strength . Jar was smaller.
Anyway, I just had some . It is like cats p@@s. So vile .
That's gonna be for guests only now.

M&S, Sainsbury's - not very moneysaving! You've got both a Lidl and a Home Bargains not far away down near Branksome Station, time to head away from Poole centre and explore the cheaper options?

Well don't invite me to your flat......:rotfl: I'd chuck your nasty coffee right back atcha!!

I don't touch instant coffee. It's vile, it's like drinking sweepings up off the floor.

I second Harz and his Aldi and Lidl suggestions. I buy Aldis best ground Columbian or Ethiopian, £1.89 and it's divine, dahhhhlings. And I'm a right coffee snob. :rotfl:

In fact I really rate both of these shops, fantastic quality and waaaay cheaper than the Big 4. Check out the cold meats and deli type stuff. And the chocolate, wines, spirits are unbeatable, the fresh fruit and veg will depend on the shops footfall, if it's a busy store it will be first rate. Even if you had to get a taxi home, it would still be worth it say once a month for a stock up.

Just because you are penny pinching you don't have to live like a pauper. If you get savvy then there's no need to compromise on taste and quality.
  • More good points LL:)
I am contemplating doing lidl etc soon . Also internet food shopping
although that's a mixed bag so to speak . I'll have to look into everything soon ;)
