I've quit everything. Now what ?

Seems like it mrs. P
I'll be getting a call on Friday to discuss .
So, as most of you are aware , me and humid weather don't get along
This of course meant no gym yet again. Fair enough I will go tomorrow and Friday to make up.
This leads me to move my fat a@@e and start tidying up the boiler room. I went through a couple of plastic crates worth of old bills etc
The big crates have been sold on fleabay , so the task was easier for the time being . I do have about a dozen boxfiles of crap to go through which is on the shelf , at some stage .
In the middle of that, and having my dinner my sisters decide they want to come and see me ..on Saturday . Okay .
I was supposed to be going to a sausage and video event in Poole on the same day . I'm gonna try and incorporate the two with my friend .
Will give him a call and see what way the land lies .
In the meantime , the boiler room is more or less useable now.
I have various rubble on the computer desk , but that will probably have to stay there until after the bank holiday . My sisters want to stay over, so I'm trying to make the best of what I can by Friday night. It means I had to move a few things in the bedroom and it doesn't look too bad for temporary measures .
The kitchen doesn't smell like a chip shop anymore, but I have lemon flash which will be used tomorrow / Friday .
One of my other friends is coming down next month , and my brother is threatening to do the same.
Busy time0 -
When we first moved down to Cornwall, the first few years we were inundated with visitors, but gradually over the years they have stopped - must be something I said
It is good having people to stay though - I find it motivates me to give the house a good spring clean.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
So I've just got back from the gym . I'm a little puzzled as to all the compliments I got from the ladies on reception . One in particular .
I'm told I look great / I've lost weight etc . Of course neither of this is true. However , I did tell them I quit and love the area etc and of my myasthenia and my 22 stone .I don't mind telling them tbh.
I did tell them that when I go more often, I will use one of their personal trainers to help me . So a great start to the day
I'll have to get some groceries in later ..yes harz , Lidl it will be.
Then I have to continue with the tidy up .0 -
Ha ha are you fishing for compliments from us.......:rotfl:
Actually you probably can't see any changes yet but it may be quite obvious to other people that you are looking better. The simple truth is when we feel better, then we look better.
The biggest change is likely to be your posture. You are probably standing taller and straighter, your shoulders are probably no longer bunched up around you ears and you are probably holding your head higher. Never under estimate the difference that good posture makes.
Do the mirror test. Stand in a slouched position, head forward, shoulders rounded, belly sticking out, shoulders hunched. Then stand straight and tall, shoulders down and back, belly and tail end tucked in. Look at the difference. You can "lose" a stone just by standing up straight.
Even when I was at my heaviest I could fool people into thinking I was slimmer than I was by being careful To "dress slim" and by being vigilent about my posture. Many is the time I was complimented on losing weight when in fact I was like a baby elephant.
Try the posture test walking down the street and see how differently people react to you. Walk tall and stride out as if you mean it, hold you head up and look people in the eye. Trust me you will be treated with More respect, you will get better service in shops. Don't believe me.? Then watch the alpha males in the animal kingdom, especially gorillas and lions. Watch how they move. The leaders of the pack exude power, strength and vitality purely by the way they move. This is how they demand and command respect. Their swagger alone is often enough to keep other male competitors in their place.
Well it's the same with humans. We are really not that different from our simian cousins.
Next time you get the chance do a bit of people watching. The best place to do this is in the supermarket queue. Look at how most slouch their way through life. Then try and find someone who appeals to you - not in a sexual way, although good posture will improve someone's sexual allure. Just pick out someone who you think looks good or attractive. Male or female, Young or old. I can guarantee the Ones who look the most appealing will be the ones who have good posture and who stand tall, proud and straight. They look stronger, healthier and younger and yes, sexier.
Your exercise will already be starting to pay dividends and this is what those receptionists will have noticed. I bet your posture is better, also your circulation will have improved so your skin probably looks better. And of course all that stress will have cost you dear. Your looks will have taken a battering.
As the stress recedes into the background your face will look less lined and haggard, your eyes will be brighter from sleeping better. No more dead fish eyes.....;)
Already you "sound" better. This is all bound to reflect on your appearance.
When I was my husbands carer and dealing with all those deaths and family woes I looked terrible. I reckon I aged 20 years in less than 5 years real time. I kept my old passport and the photos really showed the damage.
Now I look so much better. (This is not vanity, it's the truth, I am not fishing for compliments, just stating facts) I may be no Supermodel but I certainly look fitter, healthier and far less haggard than I did a year ago.
Never underestimate the adverse effects of stress and never underestimate the power of the human body to heal itself. It's a remarkable piece of kit, which can rejuvenate itself.
If we give Mother Nature a helping hand by eating well, getting plenty of good quality sleep and rest and by exercising and taking care of our bodies she will repay us handsomely for our efforts.
Just trust me on this......remember I am a qualified beauty therapist. My speciality was natural skin care and complimentary therapies. Without being big headed, I know my stuff. Lol.
Just keep going. It does take time but your body will be grateful for your efforts in the long run.0 -
Thank you LL:) Words of wisdom right there
It's amazing really ; I mostly have people moving out the way because I'm the size of an ox ..something I never saw coming . When I was at my fittest 11 years ago, I was doing some of the Alexander technique . Never lasted of course , because of the 10 year battering I took . When I was a child , I used to see a commercial with a woman sitting on a sofa with a few kids running around . I think it was for anadin or something and never understood stress obviously . I know about it now:rotfl: I look much better than last year obviously and that has been mentioned . Stress is massive and a lot of it is put on us deliberately these days imho . It's realising it and stepping away to avoid it that's the key .
I'm gonna keep on keeping on0 -
Just heard from payplan .
Wescot final offer £4,255.77. They have knocked £568.23 from the previous £4824.00. Balance was £5,674.36.
So, I'm gonna take this offer and run . Then I will actually be debt free . Hopefully for ever
I could have paid full amount of £22,912.58
Instead , I paid £ 12, 464. 92
Saved £10,447.66 .
Phew !0 -
I think that sounds good AC. They have knocked 25% off the debt which ok is not as good as the Santander offer but still saved you £1400 so worth doing.
Debt free, a new home and life in what I think is a much nicer part of the world. Keep on with the gym and watching your diet and you will soon look and feel fitter. Less stress also helps you look and feel better as LL says.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
