As a minority who has experienced racism, I am entitled to my opinion. Thanks!

But let's stick to the thread, I don't need anyone's opinion, but the facts of what has happened with the purchase.

Just as you are entitled to your opinion, so is every other poster on this forum.

It's not exactly easy to stick to the the facts when you keep changing them with nearly every post.

However, you've now been offered a refund, what else do you require advice on?

Your opinion isn't necessary if you weren't there during the purchase, thanks.

Nothing more, as clearly stated several times on this thread.

Again, the issue has been resolved. I find no need to comment further.

You are on a forum, where anyone can post.
All you are going to get are opinions.
If you are seeking facts, then in my opinion, you would be best advised to approach a professional.

That has previously crossed my mind, but now that you mention, race probably played a role in it. I was with my mum whilst making the purchase, her english is limited, but enough to communicate, however she wouldn't know a single thing about her rights or anything like that, and she was the one to initate the conversation as I asked her to go ahead. He was talking to her and then I came along and joined in the conversation with the manager who would be selling me the console, to be then told what i've posted above in the thread, after I had questioned why he was trying to sell it all together to her.

He probably thought he could take advantage an older lady, with limited english, who doesn't know a thing about warranties or anything like that. That may have played a role in it I think.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: seriously playing the racism card now ? Were there any children involved, maybe a faulty electrical connection in the controller that could have electrocuted a whole street ? Or maybe some fluffy bunnys that could have been harmed somewhere down the line.

You've apparently got your refund now and lost the member of staff his job  - how much more are you after ?
  • It's resolved now - no need to comment more, I don't want anything else, didn't even want the staff member to be 'sacked'

I find it so rude and unhelpful to future readers when posts get deleted.

So here it is for anyone else who may stumble on this thread with a similar issue.....

    Hello everyone,

I'd like some advice on a recent event, with my purchase of a Nintendo Switch from a GAME store, approximately 3 weeks ago.

So I've gone into the store, a few days after the release, and to my surprise I found a console in stock. Spoke to the management who was arranging to sell it to me, and he mentioned that in order for me to purchase the console I must buy the 2 year extended warranty with it. I was a little surprised as I've never been told this before. He was adamant that in order to buy the console and the game I wanted, I must purchase the warranty. Not knowing any better I did.

Fast forward a few weeks, turns out the consoles controller is faulty and keeps disconnecting. Upon reading my rights on their refunds policy, I decided to go back into the store and ask for a refund. To my shock I was refused a refund and left very confused, even showing the till staff their own policies on my phone. The store was adamant I would not be getting a refund on a faulty product, less than 30 days old!

I then rang into their head office, spoke to a guy who said he will contact the manager and advise him on what he's doing. I was expecting a call back from the advisor but didn't get anything as of yet, being 3 days after. I rang again a day after, being told there's nothing they can do and I should email complaints.

I then tweeted to their company help accounts. 3 days in again, no reply.

I then decided to tweet the store directly. I got a response, saying the same thing as I was told in store - no refund but replacement possible. I asked why I am not offered a refund and was blocked by their twitter account. My assumption is that it was the same manager who is managing their twitter account for that store. I wasn't rude, offensive or threatening in any way at all and I have screenshots to prove it if you'd like to see.

I finally sent an email to head office complaints and explained to them the situation.

But what do I do now? How can this manager be working like this, in such a corrupt and unprofessional manner? Forcing me to buy a warranty, refusing refunds of faulty goods and blocking me after I've given their store over £400 for their products?

Any help would be appreciated and thank you for reading. :)

It is rude, especially when they don't read the whole thread.
