I opened up a LISA yesterday. I thought I'd get one before I lose the opportunity. Just a cash one as I can't commit to regular savings at the moment. I've transferred £20 over this morning as well as the £1 to open it yesterday.
It's been on my 'to do' list for ever so glad I've finally sorted it
What's a LISA Jwil?
I'm glad you've found some of your old diary on google cache.

savingholmes wrote: »Hi JWIL - just been reading your diary. Congrats on the progress. Are you a power seller on ebay then? I need to get started on ebay to sell but seem to have a mental block to doing it. I need to reset up my paypal account too.
Hi savingholmes, thanks for popping in! I'm not a powerseller, just selling my own stuff so I don't think I qualify.
I must say now that I'm not desperate for the money like I used to be, my ebaying mojo has definitely decreased. DH is still selling lots though, so we're still keeping busy and decluttering! I do need to get back into it though as I've still got a lot of stuff to get rid of and I keep identifying more that can go!HairyHandofDartmoor wrote: »What's a LISA Jwil?

It's a Lifetime ISA. It is only available for under 40s and you save either for a house or retirement. As I'm under 40 for a couple more weeksI thought I'd open one just in case. You get 25% tax free bonus on deposits each year, so it's definitely worth it.
I've already got a house so mine is for retirement, I can access it at 60. My retirement age is 68 but I don't want to work that long if I don't have to, so this might come somewhat to bridging that gap before my pensions kick in."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Today I must photo the stuff I have already set aside for ebay as it's in my way
