Glad you got him back! Several of mine in the past have gone walkabout - managed to get them all back....eventually!
We had one who was living in the back of a kitchen cupboard, in a colander. Made a lovely nest out of the treasures he picked up each night! I even found two silver charms in there that I'd lost years ago - no idea where he found them!!
Sneaky little weasels!0 -
Mine got out not that long ago after I was sleepy and forgot to close his cage properly.
Got really worried as where I could hear him scratching I couldn't get to....until I felt this furry thing brushing my arm!
He got under the washing machine and chewed the wires.....managed to fix it though
Glad everyone managed to get their hammy back though :T:TSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

I was feeling pretty smug reading this the other day as our hamster is pretty good and over time now trust her in the living room without a ball. However, last night my OH got in from work at 1am and let her out on his special chair and she disappeared inside it for nearly 2 hours! Trying to extract her from it whilst not destroying the only decent piece of furniture we own using bits of popcorn and carrot was not what I had planned for the early hours!
She is relegated to the ball again!0 -
Hi all,
I have a 1 year old hamster living in a spacious Rotastak. Was thinking about buying a second one for the 2 to live together, is this a good idea or will they fight? I have no idea what the sex of my hamster is if that matters0 -
If it's a Syrian hamster they will fight and possibly kill each other.
If it's a dwarf hamster they might be okay but they are more likely to get on better if they grew up together.
If you don't know the sex and you end up getting one of the opposite sex, you will be overrun by baby hamsters very quickly.0 -
Lol, didnt think of that, thanks. Its a dwarf hamster and i really dont want any babies. Read that you have to feel its bits, to find out the sex - not too keen on that :eek:0

No it was my hubby's home made Acme Hamcatch! TM
Here he is, back with his owner!

Im not into picking my hamster up yet so i get her out of the cage by putting her on the lid of her ball and as ive lowered my arm round to bring her to her ball the lid has hit the wall and my hamster has fell and landed on the floor on her feet. She was a little weary and walked slowly into her ball so i sat down and let her out on me and she was walking slowly, but didnt seem hurt in anyway. When back in her cage she wandered around the top level and then went down and ate some of her food and went to bed. i just want to no if she will be ok? because im really scared as shes my first hamster and dont want to lose her trust. HELP!0

The only person who can really give you the reassurance you need is your vet. Hamsters do seem to 'bounce' but if she's acting differently to what you are used to, best get her checked out. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
