Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver! Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All

Lambing is proceeding well, no awful diseases so far. we hope for a dry week ahead which will be a great help.

Sad news however, next door small farm is being run by an enthusiastic buffoon. His dog has been killing our lovely freshly lambed ewes. Literally chasing them to death/collapse and then eating them alive for a bit before chasing another. 2 witnesses recognise this as his dog and each time we race to the field with a gun it has gone. No wonder as it only has to go 50 metres to home. It must be covered in blood when it gets home. If it was our dog we would put it down immediately. This chap looks us in the eye and says his dog has not been out of the shed.

I do not know what is worse, worrying about the awful suffering of those that are dead or fretting incase more are suffering now whilst I am in work. I have to work to pay the bills. DS is home in the shed when I am at work, although he is up and down the road turning out more ewes and lambs during the day.

How can any country person be so irresponsible as our neighbour. I hope his dog eats him! ( Yes, I am really really upset)
The financial loss so far is also into thousands, but the suffering of our sheep is worse. Once a dog has a taste of the kill and warm meat it never turns back. The dogs can not help themselves and there is no cure. Sadness all round at the moment.

I have broken my diet and eaten 8000 calories in last 2 days, I wonder why stress makes us eat? Thankfully I am still OK for spending, which is good as we are going to have alot of extra costs now this spring.

    Poor poor sheep.

    M

Maria, so sorry to hear about your poor sheep, can someone camp overnight to catch him in the act?

Angelpye, I feel for you, my son is my weak spot too but there are some things that they are only going to do once in their life (like the school prom) and I don't feel like he should miss out because I have been irresponsible with money.

London feels very quiet today, I think a lot of tourists are avoiding the centre and I can't say I blame them, I would too if I could!

I brought in a YS filled pretzel for breakfast and a YS prawn and butternut squash salad for lunch, both were lovely! DS and DSGF both have a YS sandwich in the fridge for lunch too. I didn't used to eat salad until I had treatment for my caterpillar phobia (that's not to say I'd like to find one in it but I'm prepared to chance it at least!)

I now have 13 watchers on one ebay item, Im so excited, I usually only sell old carp that nobody wants :rotfl: The other has two and a question so there's still hope for that one too :) I feel encouraged to put some more on now.

I discovered a pot of bolognese sauce in the freezer last night which I'm going to defrost and cook up with a bit of (free table) chilli mix and serve on top of tortillas with cheese and salsa. both of which we have. I will need to buy tortillas but they are on offer at the moment so the whole thing will only require a one pound spend. If there's any cream left from last night I'll mix in some lemon juice and include that too.

My prescription for my happy pills is ready for picking up if I make it before the surgery closes. I need to make an appointment for my sore throat for my week off though. I don't know if it's referred pain, an infection or I've burnt it with hot tea but something's not right.

For some time now I've had a pain in my left boob (I've seen the doctor about it and they couldn't find anything wrong, they said it was most likely muscle pain), it turns out it's a spring in the mattress that's been digging into me :rotfl:

What are you all doing for your mums for Mother's Day? (Those of you still lucky enough to have them.) I wanted to take mine to a local pub that does fillet steak (she won't eat any other type) but they have a special menu that day so won't accept Mr T vouchers. We go to the carvery fairly regularly so that wouldn't feel 'special' and I've already done afternoon tea out before. Maybe I could do afternoon tea at home.

Hope you're all having a good day :)

Actually, I'm totally going to do that. I cancelled on bingo with her this Sunday as I didn't feel well so I could make afternoon tea and take it to hers and then go with her this week. She loves all the mini cakes in the lceland platter so I could get one of those and make a selection of sandwiches and make tea in a teapot for once!

Late post for my today's to do list and I didn't manage yesterday - was out the house for 14 hours:eek: ok - I was out for dinner for my IL birthday but even if I'd not done that I would have still been out for 11.5 :o I spent about 5.5 of those in the car driving (although not necessarily moving :rotfl:) Needless to say, its been a long week. MSE things:

Shared bill for dinner with DBIL - MIL showed no sign of getting her purse out despite arranging it ;) I was an hour late (see above) but we weren't charged for mine or DD food :D
NSD today apart from £1 for DD for red nose day
    check banking, surveys, FPL
    DH got to £40 on 1poll and cashed out - I'm 30p away :T
Put some stuff aside I got in the sale to go back, ordered two pairs of curtains for choice, need to pick one for DD room and other will go back (£15 instead of £65 ).
sausages out of freezer for tea
Have free music subscription for 6 months, have downloaded some tracks so I can listen to them without WIFI and it won't use data
thinking about making some lemon curd, have jars and an old family recipe that's dead easy and quite cheap - will keep an eye out for cheap lemons
Am surprisingly up to date with washing despite the poor weather this week. Small loads overnight have been the key. Hoping to get the rest out tomorrow and change the beds as it'll be nice.

Right, still some more work to catch up on - will look at diaries later.

    Hi Campers,
Not so much money saving today, but have kept the faith.
*Free fitness - over 6000 steps in the sunshine out delivering leaflets.
*Grocery shopping - last shop of March budget was just £3 or so over. We did buy some non-food items for gifts including a really nice hoodie. I'd rejected some elsewhere that were £42 as just more than we can afford at the moment. The one we bought in Sainso's was £16, so a big difference. We got a voucher for 8p off each litre of fuel for buying that, plus it put our total spend up sufficiently to qualify for 5 x nectar points.
*Bought coffees out but filled our loyalty card up so will get a free one next time. Did not buy lunch as took a pack-up with us.
*Dinner as per meal plans - a rubber chicken creation made & frozen the other week.
*Successfully propelled mr f past the beer aisle by reminding him that a week on Fri is Weigh-Day.
    *Checked seedlings & watered them.
*Sock knitting later as intend to slob in my big chair, watch TV & try to make 5 Mikado sticks last as long as possible!
    Love to all,
    F x

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Oh......(me again) & did a couple of surveys. Am v v close on Ugov & Onepoll which will be £90 for the two of them.
*Also rounded up loose change for shrapnel box.
*Paid another 50p into my sealed pot.
*Gave mr f a moisturiser to keep him going until the one he likes is on offer.

Maria - so sorry to hear awful news about your ewes. Horrible for you & also for them. Is there no way you can get photographic evidence of this dog being loose around your livestock? You need to be compensated for the financial loss if at all possible......it must be so upsetting.
