DS1 must be in love. Normally he can beat me for being frugal but has bought his gf a little tub of icecream because its her favourite - it was £5!!!
Lots of washing dried outside, meal from stores, feel quite on track - although we have put the heating on a bit as its been so cold. Lots of paid stuff tomorrow and a Pilates class, free on my gym membership.
And Maria lambs in coats - just awwww.
What did he do in the end about his friends present that got bought without him knowing and he was expected to chip in for?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Nephew's funeral was held today - I knew it would be hard but this was an understatement
Very spendy day but there was no question of not being there for brother & his family - although some money saving was included. Will update tomorrow in case it's of any use to anyone else.
Anyhow - after leaving the house @ 5.15 am Tuesday & getting home @ 11.30 pm - I am officially knackeypooed - & as I was the driver I had 6 hrs driving in that time (thankfully DH drove home from airport to house)
Zzzzz
Sorry to hear that ClootiesMum.:(" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning folks
clootiesmum - thinking of you and yours x
Feeling a bit tummyachey today. Possibly ate something that didn't agree with me or it's the Amoxycillin. But better than an ear infection!
Went a bit off piste last night as we ended up going out for tea but was very nice and enjoyed it. Out of designated fun fund.
Today's mission:- B/D from stores. L bought - not much food in and couldn't face mad concoction.
- Charge phone in work
- Gym at lunchtime - done
- No alcohol (obvs helped by the fact I'm on tablets!)
- Crochet commission if up to it.
- Early night.
- Pick a meal plan for next week. Grocery funds very low so will be an overspend this month. Not helped by prescriptions etc.

Thank you for kind words everyone, but really u would all do the same in my position. I've had to have a lot of operations because of the secondaries of the spinal damage pressure sores, infections etc and unfortunately I'm going to need some major abdominal surgery soon-3 days nil by mouth:(......means 3 days without cake:(:( but it all boils down to fight or flight and survival and I have managed to turn my disability into something positive. It really is all about survival, I always think I've only got one life and want to make the most of it-money saving along the way.
The spinal treatment unit I attend, I've met some truly amazing people there, I have no idea how they cope, and it makes me grateful that although I was paralysed, it wasn't from the neck down or I haven't had to battle cancer. Ive met so many amazing people.
Hoping for a NSD today but had to buy a couple of birthday cards
Cats are all sorted
Radiator shuffle done
Bitterly cold here, ended up giving in and putting the heating back on
Picking DD up in a bit, I've got an awful feeling she wants to go to Tesc@......must keep purse tightly shut
Amazon vouchers arrived today-10 for free just by staying at certain hotel chain and building up points:T
Recycling all sorted ready for tomorrow
Photographed one of DD dresses ready to go on ebay
Yorkshire u did make me smile about DS and the ice cream
FVD hope u are feeling better now. Perhaps the dentist suspected that the extraction had affected you more?
clootiesmumhope you are doing okay
Welcome back fendi-bag-lady I love this thread, it helps keep me on the straight and narrow with my spending and trying to be more organised:D

Afternoon all, I am back to normal now and wasn't missed yesterday as there was nothing to do anyway!
ClootiesMum, it must have been heartbreaking, be kind to yourself today.
9 watchers now on one of my items and just the one on the other, just have to hope the one person buys it! I priced it at a price I'd be comfortable accepting, I wasn't taking any chances with listing it lower when everything on there has been a bit slow.
I was so busy prepping my curry for tonight that I left home without my YS tortilla, luckily I had a tin of soup here already so didn't have to spend.
Because of the date invoices go in I had only worked eight days so far since my last payday so next month is going to be leaner than lean! I am going to cancel the SO that sweeps 1.5x my mortgage payment to the other account for this month as I had saved enough to cover it for three months and this will be one of them! Bizarrely it will be about the same amount that I would have earned at the GC but there I wouldn't have had to buy train tickets etc plus could have claimed WTC.
It will be good for me though, maybe it will keep me away from big supermarket shops and I can hopefully plan all meals around the YS run (lots of sandwiches and chips coming up!) and I will have to be a bit tougher on the teens. I'm also planning to up my 'make $4 a day' (sorry, no pound sign!) to 'make $10 a day' for this coming month. I have a forthcoming table top sale and, weather permitting, I may be able to photograph some of my order of service this weekend. I love to buy some flowers as props but I have some lovely artificial peonies and I can pick a couple of grape hyacinths from the front garden.
So, today, the curry is on, I actually forgot the butter chicken sauce so am using another, I'm sure it'll be just as nice. I need to pick up some micro rice which is an expensive luxury but still cheaper than a takeaway!
I will get myself down for the YS run again tonight, Wednesday was the day I was going to start allowing myself a takeaway but after having yesterday off I can't justify it plus I did a lot of the pesky paperwork sorting (that I've planned to do each Wednesday when I'm not cooking) yesterday.
Have a good day all

Quick question :- Can I freeze salami?
General internet concensus seems to be yes & no so I thought I'd ask you experts.
When you get a YS of 1.5kg of peppered salami still sealed from supermarket you take it & ask questions later. And yes - I'll be back tomorrow hoping the deli area are clearing out the cheeses

Thanks DNMS. I got it for the princely sum of £2.49 so reckoned it was worth a shot
Guess what I'll be slicing & freezing tomorrow
