Well due to still not owning a lock chain this morning, I walked 1.5 miles to the train station to get to college. Then yes i know will get told off, used £13.34 of my overdraft to buy a backpack and bike accessories pack (lights and lock). Now to see how I start saving with biking/training to college, instead of bus.
normal fare expenditure £48.00 for October if on bus.

Well didn't have college yesterday so no biking:j.
What I did have was an open evening at the High school I have applied for for my son to attend. £6.40 on bus fares later (me, son and daughter who was helping out at the open evening) plus a take out pizza and chips £5.20 (was 10pm when we finally got back here) and that's a good quarter of my weekly budget gone. Still got the shoes I am getting DD for her birthday to buy on tuesday, which will be another quarter of the budget. So glad kids are at their dad's this weekend. Not even going to plan this weeks meals till kids are back home. So just Monday Tuesday and Wednesday to worry about.
DD is off today as its teacher training, so told her she is just having egg on toast for lunch. Will probs just have cheese grill sarnies and egg with something over the weekend for me.
Went to stick my gas reading on my account today and its lower than last reading. Did wonder why i seemed to use so much gas last month when i had spent one week away and hardly had heating on. I had typed in a 6 instead of 5 hadn't I, so it looked like a drastic jump up in usage. anyhow, also called british gas and explained what i had done when i stuck my last reading in, and they said my new one had gone through. a new one that is 16units lower than the previous reading....:o19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
Kids bikes arrived today. Have come to an agreement with daughter that she can have her bike for her 13th birthday present, but that I will be spending more on her brother than her for Xmas as he only got a t-shirt for his (yes plus they both are having/had their weekends away as main present) Son will have his bike for Christmas.
Only reason daughter is having hers early is because like I said before, her old one is ready to fall to pieces after this past years usage. Also means I shall not be buying her the shoes for her birthday, which I did inform her. Think she intends seeing if she can find them and get her dad to buy them for her birthday whilst there this weekend.
Today's spends

Hi Penny
Just wanted to say well done for doing so well, especially the weeks food for £15, I wish I could be that organised. I've also been looking at secondary schools for my daughter this week like you.
Hope you're enjoying your kid-free weekend (and that Dad gets the shoes for DD!)Lightbulb moment 30/10/06Debt at highest (30/10/06) £24 816Debt on 06/01/09 £2500Bank Charges Reclaimed from NatWest £14000 -
Penny - I'm in awe.
You are doing such a good job and keeping track of everything so well. There's no way i'd be able to stick to it the way you have.
Well Done!!!
Hope your dolls start generating some income (potential for being Christmas presents seems quite good).
Just wanted to say keep up the good work.

Have to admit asda had 4pk choc orange bars, toberone and dime bars at 2 pks for £1 or 1 for £1.10, works out at 12.5p a bar, so bought 6 packs as kids haven't had an treats (baring the pizza) in ages. They are having one bar a day and so am I.
I have good and bad days. today was badish, but apart from choc bars it was stuff that will last for 2 weeks. Mixed veg and mini corn on cob. Ok the dog food will only last a week, same as the cheese and milk. Also bought £3 of fruit.
Had tea for free today as called to sister's conviced it was sunday all day, to ask her to collect kids from their dad's when she went to take my bro to work, to be informed it was only saturday and not sunday (day kids come home) and that there was half a veggie pizza in microwave. So i ate that.
Think it will really be after christmas when I start selling my dolls proper.19th March 2007 LBM£5,969.63 1st January 2018 £5960.18, 1st January 2019 £11,032.0018th August 2023 £12,435.00, Student Loan £22244.00 From 2009-12Challenges: To learn to stop spending..0 -
