The bad news is that MR SMF2 scraped a neighbour's car

    No nothing yet :o

Just checked how much we saved using our airmiles for the Eurostar. It was £36 (which is not to be sniffed at) but not a great saving given that we gave up Tescos vouchers to get the airmiles. It would have been better value using them as Tesco Points I think.

However, the room we got for £12 per night using our Hilton points is actually £574 per night omg.gif what a bargain and omg.gif how posh is it going to be:eek:

Meter lady has just been (so I have updated page 1 off my energy thread on the green board.)

    Quite shocked :D

Electricity is down 3 kw per day compared to same qtr last year - 16% reduction

    But

GAS is down 50% compared to this qtr 2006 and 40% compared to this qtr last year.:jie reduced by 20kw per day. I was so surprised I checked it twice smiley-faces-75.gif

It must have been much warmer this year or wearing those jumpers really has paid off! Dead pleased:D

PS we have managed to increase our savings by a further £1k this month smiley_happy_thumbup.gif

PPS I'm thinking about putting my part of my pension back into the market - just contemplating which funds smiley_thinking.gif

Great data on consumption; I'm still waiting to complete the year on the new tariff we took in Sept 08 to see where we are in relative terms. We thought we'd kept thermostat low etc, but, changing our electricity meter meant the offpeak moved from about 0230-0930hrs back to what it "should" be of 0000-0700hrs. I think that this means OH's shower is no longer on cheap rate and probably a fair amount of washing etc too which we used to get done by 0930. May need to look at this.

Have you seen the latest from CBI; things are improving a lot so far. Run a check on Trustnet so you can see trend over last 3-6 months vs the sector, it may help you. Also corporate bonds etc may be continuing to drop....

Good luck on your choices, I'm still down overall but hope that by end of Q1 2010 to be well into positive territory with growth on investments since September 2008 and to some degree recovery on investments prior to that.....

Oh dear I'm getting cold feet again :o as the markets fell yesterday. I'm an ultra cautious person by nature... However, I'm off to to swot up on the Friends Provident Funds and maybe have a look at the BGI funds too...thumb_smiley-signs101.gif for the encouragement :D
