Never mind the cost, we must all take time with our children to expand their experiences we can't defer that until MF.

So true. I think my boys found it quite overwhelming tbh, especially my youngest. The sheer scale of the amount of magnificient architecture in Paris is totally mind blowing. Still - they are back to lounging around this week, though eldest has quite a lot of coursework to be done over the holidays so I've been "encouraging" him to do some work every day;) rather than spend all day doing nothing....:o

Oh it is the most beautiful of Cities - amazing. I got to go on a boat trip on the River Seine something I've always wanted to do. Mr SMF2 got to go the top of the Eiffel Tower with our eldest (me and youngest went for a walk;)) We didn't go on an open top bus ride as they wanted £25 each:eek: which would have cost £100:eek: However, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame and lots of other things - all free:D

Back to reality now and thinking of ways to save money LOL.

Sounds like you did loads, probably even more than you would sat on a bus ride!

No plans for the weekend... probably just want a rest after all the fun you had with your family in Paris! I think I would too.;)

  • Well done SMF, you're doing brilliantly and you still manage a holiday, I am seriously impressed!

Have you similarly visited Glasgow then? The architecture there from the tobacco barons etc is excellent, well worth taking the guided walking tour and then off for a curry in Sauchiehall Street with the family. And I say all that as someone from the West Country not a Scot!

No I've never been to Glasgow...did a tour of Scotland youth hostling when I was a kid with my parents but we never went to Glasgow. Scotland is very beautiful and I do remember that Edingburgh and Aberdeen has some grand architecture...

When are you off on holiday?

Awww man I have be sooooo dumb. I have needed a new photo printer for over a year. I have an epson picture mate but it has stopped working well, so I decided to buy a new one. Went into PC World today and under the guidance of their staff bought a Kodak printer - cost £100 plus extra for ink and paper - well it's complete S!it - unusable, the photo quality is awful.Worse than the one I'm trying to replace. I can't believe it. So being a girl I shed a few tears and then went on line to see the reviews on Amazon and they are dreadful. I feel totally dumb for not doing some research before I bought it:o

Tomorrow I will take it back to the shop. As far as I'm concerned it's not fit for its purpose...what a waste of time and possibly money Cb5BXMt574558863.gif

Awww schucks - what an idiot!

We can all get caught out.....

I replaced our ink jet with a Xerox Phaser 6125 colour laser about a month ago; great for our general use. Prints fine to normal paper (and got extra set of colour toners too in the price) but I've not yet printed to photopaper... £125 or so from Oyyy.co.uk if you want to check it out (via TopCashBack of course!). Arrived within 48hrs of order and no delivery charge either.

Good luck in pushing for cash refund.
