Back from Paris flag-smiley-7327.gif Had a fab time. First time on the Euro Star and thought it was brilliant.Spent a lot of money :p Paris is expensive at the best of times but it was Reaaaaalllllly expensive this year - like scarryyyyyy:eek:. Still he Hotel was cheap so it's swings and roundabouts and it didn't feel like there was many tourists around so not too many queues.

Can't believe it Kids have been off for a week and a half and they still have 6 weeks to go......

Salut! :hello: Paris is definitely fab... :D Sounds like you had better luck on the hotel than we did. Our hotel had carpet (beige) on the walls (as well as the floor lol)  :rotfl: Very odd! :rotfl:

  • Sounds like (expensivity aside) you had a great time in gay Pari' - can we say that on the boards?!

And you smashed through £110k before you went - super smashingly brilliant!

Awww a combination of your recent elec/gas reduction post and Stuart's graphs... I'm very tempted to log in and see our online ones that E.On provide. Although we're comparing to an elderly gentleman who lived in the house last year - it's quite insightful, high gas useage to keep him warm but very low elec compared to us. Still overall lower combined than him. Not sure about August to October though, sadly he'd passed away by then and the house was unoccupied till we moved in middle of November. So by December we'll be comparing our usage with our previous years usage!

    Plans for the weekend?
    MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.

Glad you had a good time in Paris. I love Paris, and although we over spent dramatically when we were there in Jan, it is a great place to relax.
Time to get back on the OP bandwagon!

Oh it is the most beautiful of Cities - amazing. I got to go on a boat trip on the River Seine something I've always wanted to do. Mr SMF2 got to go the top of the Eiffel Tower with our eldest (me and youngest went for a walk;)) We didn't go on an open top bus ride as they wanted £25 each:eek: which would have cost £100:eek: However, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame and lots of other things - all free:D

Back to reality now and thinking of ways to save money LOL.

Great to hear the family enjoyed the time in Paris. Never mind the cost, we must all take time with our children to expand their experiences we can't defer that until MF.
