Well done on the gardening - after two years of looking like it was fit only for the compost heap my climbing clematis has finally made some progress. thanks goodness I was patient! Know what you mean about the hayfever though. Without fail I sneeze about 10 times on waking up - I'm exhausted before I even get out of bed! :rotfl:

Oooo I planted a clematis montana 43140t.jpg about 2 years ago too. It's just about to flower;) and is looking good:D. Hayfever is a true pain, I get it almost all summer but I'm much better than I was last week. DS is much better too.

Finally i get to read your thread. Its been a good read, inspirational and pointed out my failures lol.
    Energy consumption, gardening........

I do try to watch how much energy we use and this time last year i was very good, but i am not sure what happened will have to get back into doing daily readings and pop into the thread you pointed out for energysaving. Think of desperate housewives, I am like lynette, 4 kids running around so busy :rotfl:OH working away etc...

Thanks for the tips on hanging baskets too, i know absolutely nothing about gardening although i am trying, my mil tells me about different grasses! Not sure why? I know she likes them but i don't so, not much help there! I have bought some plants but want to do hanging baskets, i have been looking and even contemplated asking a complete stranger at the garden centre what to do!:o:rotfl:

Well done on the overpayments and staying focused!

I planted a clematis "pixie" today - recommended by my greenfingered Auntie. Have had mixed results in the past - one that flourished and one that, ahem, didn't. Here's hoping this fares a little better. Breeze kept hayfever at bay so only the morning sneezes to contend with today!:o

Talking about clematis' both my evergreen ones had died, I don't know why :o( but the others seem happy enough :o)

Glad to hear the hayfever was a bit better this weekend!

Have you planted a Clematis Montana in the past? They seem to be very easy and most unfussy - which is my type of plant LOL....

We have 2 accounts with Airmiles and Airmiles are threatening to take the points away from us if we don't add to them,

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1497367&highlight=airmiles

....... so I am going to redeem them all;). Got enough Airmiles to cover 4 tickets on the Eurostar to Paris and at least one free night in a hotel. Mr SMF2 might have some more points we can use in another hotel - so it would be good if we could get a virtually free trip away smiley_paris.gif

    Hi SMF2

As 'energy queen' ;) I hope you don't mind me asking you a question. Someone has recently told me that if you leave a mobile phone charger in the electric socket is still uses electricity even if the switch on the socket is in the off position. I recently changed my mobile and when it is fully charged it also shows a message advising the charger be taken out of the socket etc so this seems to support what I was told.

So... do you know if this is true? Must admit I've been taking charger out of the socket ever since just in case but for years in the past I've always just left it plugged in :o
