Cheap airport lounge access

Can someone explain/answer a query about airport lounges please. We were given a priority pass as an incentive to join something else. We went to have a look at a Manchester lounge and the person on the door said as we had the pass it was free so we may as well go in for a coffee. He took the particulars of our card down. We had a drink and croissant. Later we had a charge on our credit card for £40 there were two of us. This was extremely expensive to me, especially as I was led to believe it was free.0

Hang on...if it was free why on earth did you hand a credit card over? :j0 -

@ Bradders
Well write and complain. They said it was free, even at the door. Get your money back!0 -

I may have already missed a thread, but is there a genuine reason why airports north of Birmingham don't have codes? Been using 1903 at Manchester for a few years and price for next year now £90 for two; I initially paid £55 2-3 years ago and any code would be useful0

Priority Pass would have the credit card details.
Guests are charged at +£20 through Priority Pass. It looks likes two guests were processed, not one.0 -

You would have been correctly charged for the second guest @ £20 per guest, however if there were only two of you and you are the cardholder there should only have been one + £20 charge.
If the Manchester Lounge told you guests were free, thats wrong but you would need to take that up with the Lounge.0 -
