Money Moral Dilemma: Should I share my flight delay compensation?
Comments

This is not a moral dilemma You are breaking the LAW. If you don't pay the compensation to the passengers you could well find yourself in court. As I have said before this compensation is for the passengers who have been delayed not for the person who bought the tickets. The tickets were used for a later flight.

What the hell is left to say on this matter opinions have been given advice has been given maybe you should send a PM asking for their birthday so you can send them a card. Get a life move on to giving advice to someone who needs it.0

Compensation is for the suffering caused by the delay.
If I was the friends, I would be glad for the free holiday & not ask or expect it.
If I was the ones who paid out for the holiday, then I would blow it with the friends on nights out or a cheap 2nd holiday. Afterall, If I can afford to pay for friends to go on holiday with me, I can probably afford to just blow the compo!0 -
The compensation is technically for the "pain & suffering" of the delay but for most people it's not much more than an inconvenience.
If you paid for the holiday because your friends are skint, the windfall of the payment could be used to pay you back as a good friend would.
I would suggest telling the "friends" to decide what is more important, your friendship or the money. They could take you to court to get it back, that would make a good story for the mail. At the end of the day £325 a friend is a cheaper way to establish who a good friend is than alternatives.0 -
What a cheek! Why would you share YOUR compensation with these hangers-on?0
