Some peolple are just never happy for themselves or you.
If you don't win they say you are wasting time and money , if you do win they say well what do you want that for.

We know we do it for the thrill of the postman knocking or a surprise parcel turning up to cheer up our days.

when people who have tiny mortgages or who live at home start asking me for things, I dont want to be greedy, but if it wasnt for winning a holiday I couldnt afford to go away this year and I really didnt want to give my holiday away to someone just because they asked for it.

I don't think you're being the greedy one Shineyhappy.;) If they want something that badly there's nothing stopping them entering......

And black-saturn - your and OHs parents....:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: cheered me up no end.

Couldn't agree with you more, had a little win this morning - got pair of tickets in the post for the london craft fair - not very excitng but worth £7 each and if i didn't win these tickets i probably wouldn't go even though its something i am quite interested in. Same with getting free preview cinema tickets - i hadn't been to the cinema in years until i found this board this year and gone to quite a few movies (as you can see in the sig).
  • i tell people i enter compititions and they seem to sneer and say you are wasting your time but someday when i win something big they will be sneering with anger and i will be :rotfl: because someday soon i will get a big win and i dont think its a waste of my time:D

  • If people knew how much time we spend entering comps then I'm sure they'd realise we deserve to win!

Some people just cannot help being envious. I had an accident years ago, lost my job and was medically retired. I received a small amount of compensation and a 'friend' said "You did well, I hope you remember your friends". !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats terrible! I think I would have struggled not to say something to that!

I have learnt a lot about people over the last couple of days. A close friend bought a scratch card on Tuesday as it was his birthday and won £100,000. I was so shocked by the jealous and nasty comments i heard from some of his supposed friends and family. Its been awful. Made me ten times as happy that he won the money!
