Rarely eat cakes as I prefer savoury things but as cakes go my favourite would have to be Carrot Cake.
Wouldn't know what to say as a second choice really, maybe lemon drizzle cake

I love Nigel Slater's carrot cake recipe, which makes a massive 22cm cake.

And Nigella's Chocolate Fruit Cake, which is an excellent alternative Xmas cake - but is yummy (if expensive to make) all year round!

Hi,
I have a pretty good recipe that i make everyday for the kids which they love.
Its very cheap and quick to make.
5oz value SR flour
3oz caster sugar
1 value pot of flavoured yogurt 125g
1 egg
optional 1 apple finely chopped or 1 pear
splash of milk to make cake batter consistancy
mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl then mix in your egg, and added fruit if liked. Once mixed at some milk, enough to make a thick batter.
Place in a greased and lined loaf tin and cook in over until set at about 180'c
comes out beautiful everytime! It's the start of the no takeaway challenge.0
