i feel as well that its a bad idea.. when i first came to this board i read the diaries to see how other people got on - and i think that if they all have a seperate board it'll become too cliquey. just my own thoughts though.. xBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I bet you did your 'Level'best to hang on till that post number came up, Annie. :rotfl: :rotfl:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I personally feel that moving the diaries is a bad idea. One thing lots of newbies notice and comment on is how friendly this forum is and how much all the dfw's (and those of us who want to stay that way!) try to help each other and support each other and I think a lot of that will be lost if the diaries disappear. without the longer standing threads it will be a forum of posts directing people to ss' sticky and telling them to drop the gym. It will lose it's whole dynamic.
I for one know that despite best intentions I'll come on here check my diary and those that I look at then log off whereas now I'll have a nose at all the threads on the first page or two.
I think that getting rid of the majority of the stickies is a better plan. I'm not sure about the debt free roll of honour, can't say I've ever looked at it or posted when I got debt free. The maximising income does not need to be there. The nerd club is unnecessary (sorry ss IU) as we are all one big dfw club. Ways to cut back I'm unsure of, think it started off as a good idea then went too far (i remember one about doing a number 2 at work to save tp...). The blackpool meet is over so that can go. The debt dieter has also been decided and can go. I think the best way to deal with the two signature threads would be to edit them and ad them to the soa sitcky.
et voila in two minutes I've cleared the board0 -
Interesting I've always been against a sub-board - but thought there was a consensus. As there isn't one I have to say I'm loathed to change things if it works.
Anyone got any ideas how we can make it easier within the current structures.
Maybe Deliberate locked stickies - which act as a directory a bit like in Old Style. More thoughts pleaseMartin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

To be honest I think the opinions in here are a little biased (sorry!) - like those that have diaries don't want them moving. Something definately does need to happen because in amongst all the diaries its getting harder to spot the very new people everyone thinks it puts off by moving the diaries!
We can still be friendly but functional, ie, spot those in need of help quicker. Its getting more and more common to see bumped up topics where they have been missed.
Us regulars know where to find help but I would feel terrible if someone new just thought it was lack of interest why a topic got missed.0 -
I agree that a sub-board would be great. There are so many diaries now that peoples requests for help often get lost and we can always get round the problem of newbies wondering where they have ended up with a forum announcement on the top!:grouphug: Things can only get better.0

Hi
I like the idea of sub-board, there are now so many diaries that it would make it easier to find/read them. I agree with rayday2, it can be difficult to spot new questions especially if you do not log on everyday. Although many newbies do read the diaries, lots of individuals just require help/advice and are not necessarily at all intested in reading about other people's experiences.SSB0
