MSE_Martin wrote: »Interesting I've always been against a sub-board - but thought there was a consensus. As there isn't one I have to say I'm loathed to change things if it works.
Anyone got any ideas how we can make it easier within the current structures.
Maybe Deliberate locked stickies - which act as a directory a bit like in Old Style. More thoughts please
This is the thing though Martin ~ its not hard.
There aren't a million and one diaries blocking up the first page (we have even being counting) and its VERY rare to see a question go unanswered whether it be from a newbie or an oldie.
By slinging the diaries on a sub board its like saying the newbies are much more important than the oldies now *s*d off*From time to time people say that its cliquey in here  a sub board will make it just that.
Neither is it a difficult to navigate board or site as a whole and I really just cant see and argument for change.
The whole ethos of MSE which is all thanks to you is the friendliness and support that everyone offers to each other regardless of their stage of [STRIKE]DFW[/STRIKE] DWF~ no matter how unintentinal, that will change if a sub board is created.
I waffle far to much but as usual Toto has completely nailed it in her posts.

Anybody got a clue how to post a thread with a poll. To be honest I have not got a Scooby. Gave up after 3 attempts.
Think this needs to go to a poll now

I agree with Tig too. IMHO there are too many stickies on the front of the DFW board compared with other boards....i like the fact that the DFW board is v. friendly and busy. I still have prob dealing with my debts but i know that there are so many more out there that it gives me a warm feeling on low days....total debt at lightbulb 18th April 2007:idea: £42367.60:eek: DFW Nerd No 725. The thing is, Martin doesn't have to go along with the result of the poll - it's his site and he can decide how it's laid out.....but I've added my vote, just in case!
I agree with tidying up the stickies - I think there should just be two - SS's 'First Time Posters' one, and another that is basically a list of links to useful information (ie to letter templates, CCCS. Payplan, CAB, CCA info etc etc). That would leave more room for threads, and would also answer the questions that newbies ask most often, so there might be less of the threads asking questions that have been answered lots of times before.
Also, maybe more board guides? We have Nearlyrich who does a fantastic job but I know she's very busy, and then there's Plumpmouse, but they don't seem to be online much at all (not having a go at you if you read this, but I think we maybe need someone who has more time to get online)."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
