Can't understand this argument at all.
Please enlighten me.
PS What's a cleft stick?
A cleft stick is an animal trap. You (the animal) pushes one way, and ends up further stuck. It pushes the other and ends up further stuck. The same outcome no matter which way it's done.
So going back to the diaries:
If they're popular, and people go on just for them, they'll take "eyes" with them when they move. Hence they shouldn't be moved.
If they're not popular, and people don't go on just for them (as you have claimed), then they're not a problem and the problem lies elsewhere. Hence they shouldn't be moved."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

ihave to be honest i dont go past page one very often as it takes to long to load and the time it dose i havent got time to read them but thats just me and my slow laptop
That's a different problem entirely. I do wish they'd (Martin and crew) would ditch the first post of the thread "tool tips". I never read it (does anyone) and it bulks up the page by an order of magnitude (100Kb the last time I looked). Very slow on dial-up.as for the them and us on the bankrupcty board it is very different and i think the reason it became one was because at the time there was a lot of abuse cloging up dfw because of the amont of threads about bankrupcty and it was puting people of from using dfw for fear of beening mobed
I would disagree with that. When it was part of DFW, the relationships were very good, with only a few disagreements about it (notably about bankrupts posting on the Debt Free thread). Since it went into it's own sub-group there have been a number of us and them flamewars. But you couldn't bring it back. Too many burning bridges."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

MY,MY...What a lot of upset being caused by the great man asking a simple question or so he thought!!!!!...I'm easy either way but don't think it will make the so called un-answered newbie threads get answered..at the moment when we look at diaries we then go through a few pages to answer what we can....personally I can't answer questions about DMP,IVA or bankruptcy...bank charges or collection agencies as luckily I've never had to deal with them myself so am not going to post false information...on trying to save money and stripping a SOA ...I like to help...we are all and have been in differing situations and agree with the bankruptcy board being separate as I've seen some bad feelings between DFWs and bankruptcies...people have a choice to skip by the diaries if they want to...at the end of the day it's up to Martin to decide...bet he didn't know so many people would get upset though...0

Something has been bugging me all night (couldn't sleep as the baby was ill so I've had a lot of time to think ). I've been wondering if the people who are complaining that newbies are not getting answered are actually the people who ARE trying to help the newbies.
So I chose a few people at random, and did a bit of post checking (bit below the belt I know but it sort of proves a point)
Of the people who are in favour of leaving the diaries where they are, one person has answered 29 newbie posts, one person has answered 12 newbie posts and one has answered 33 newbie posts.
Of the people who think the diaries should go, one person has answered 6 newbie posts, one has answered 4 newbie posts and one has answered 0 newbie posts!
I know checking such a small number of people doesn't exactly prove anything, but these were just the first 6 people I could think of who were for and against, and it's an interesting trend, no?
So if you take the diarists and diary readers off the main board, you might be able to SEE the newbie posts more easily, but who exactly is going to answer them???"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
