  • I can understand your point of view IA.

  • But what's the point.. no matter whathappens we're always going to get round to this stupid 'the diaries are ruining everything' debate where people end up whining to Martin so everything gets screwed up.... what's the point?
No one's saying the diaries are ruining everything hun, in fact, the arguement is precisely the opposite!
It's not about stopping the diaries, as has been said many times, the diaries are the best place to start to look for inspiration (I'm proud to say that my inspiration was/still is urs! If u stop, I have to stop!.... oooh that makes me sound like a stalker!!!:o )
This is gonna be one of those subjects that will come round every so often...
I intially said that the sub board was a good idea, but I can see both sides of it. If people still wanna help the newbies, they will, wherever their posts are... theres always someone that's willing to help (as Snaggles said, we can't all be here all the time). I for one will always look, can't always give good advice, but I can do moral support :D

At the end of the day, its Martin's train set, and he can play with it how he wants.... I actually feel sorry for him now, because whatever he decides to do, he's gonna annoy someone! Lets not loose sight of the bigger picture.... Martin's a champion for consumer rights, not just these forum pages, and has a lot to deal with...... and this place will always be a place for new DFW's to come for advice and support, wherever the diaries may be.

I disagree ZTD. I'm lured back by the different questions asked as much as if not more than the diaries. I only post when I am absolutely certain of the answer to any question (on all boards not just the DFW).

Unfortunately, this answer seems to fall into a bit of a cleft stick. The diaries attract people, that's why they're popular (by definition).

If they weren't popular, or were less popular than the questions - then this entire thread (and sister threads) would not exist.

Can't understand this argument at all.

    Please enlighten me.

It was the first two postings out of this thread that fit the definition. I was too lazy to do more than 2... :o
