None of us work here remember, we don't get paid for it, and we can't be online 100% of the time. Some (and only some) of the questions newbies ask are either easily answered by a quick Google/forum search, or are just nonsensical rants, or take about half an hour to decipher what they're even asking, and yet we try and answer them all and be supportive.

But that feels like a criticism that we're not trying hard enough, and it leaves a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth.

But Triker its a debate that comes round like clockwork that Martin has previously stated he will not change - so why has it been brought up again!!

Surely respecting all MSEr's includes Martins decisions ~ not only can I not see a problem to start with but nor can I see why his judgement is being questioned!!

Can people just accept that others are entitled to an opinion that differs from their own without this getting nasty? I know people feel passionate about this but come on pepys...chill!
At the end of the day Martin will do what he feels best; !!!!!ing at each other isnt really going to help the commmunity spirit is it? Please can people be nice to each other & just agree to disagree?

I think it's a bit like standing in the newsagents. The papers with headlines that grab you sell more. In the same way, a thread with the title "I'm £45k in debt and I've got my mistress pregnant" * will probably get more viewings and responses than "In debt and expecting". It's human nature, whether the diaries are on the main board or not.


* Thread titles are purely fictitious. Any resemblance to actual thread titles, active or long dead, is purely coincidental.

It is incumbant upon those who find it unbearable to make sure it doesn't happen. Changing the structure of this board to force others to stop it happening is not going to work. In fact it will probably make things worse.
