i like the fact two stickies have been removed thanks for that... was looking (again sorry) couldnt the dfw board slogan and the size of the sig stickies be merged as well? to be truthful i really do think it is a bad idea to put the diaries on the sub board but i'm sure you already know that lol

This thread wasn't around this morning yet the poll has closed already???? Would love to leave it as it is, i think that creating a sub board would make it feel daunting to the new guys and we have lots of comments posted from newbies about how they were lurkers on the diaries which prompted them to post. However a sub board would be better than a utilities type lay out. xx

B****** have to laugh...me myself I agree; it has gone a bit mad! Poll, what poll?!! Just goes to show that the boss has a "fiddle" (phnar phnar) & look what happens! Ok so for my bit...I have honestly lost the will to live on this one! I really dont think you will ever please everyone so Martin the marvellous just do what you feel is best! Those who dont post still wont; posts will still move quickly due to the volume and people will come & go regardless.
I think the original concern was that were alot of diaries and new posts can get lost and that will remain either way - if you have a diary thread the more popular ones will still be at the top, the not so popular at the bottom & on it goes.... & then a whole new "discussion" will start!
I think I'd also like to send a hug for anyone who is feeling upset/riled/unsettled by any of the comments made...it all seems to have got a bit heated - or is that just my interpretation?
Anway...I await the outcome (hopefully a speedy one) with eager anticipation...
PS have to laugh! Martin surely after all the discussions you've had with banks you're not caving into pressure from the DFW's!!!!!!!!!!! Now THATS DFW power!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Okay, when I was two years younger and a newbie DFW I didn't post much but I did follow diaries with interest and the progress that they made from desperation to acknowledgement through to success ensured I stuck around and tried to get DFW myself. If the diaries had been on a sub board I may never have made it past the first week and may even have topped meself. It would have been doom and gloom all round. I have popped into the 'arms' once or twice but it feels more like virtual socialising and strangely enough I am not that comfortable socialising with people I am not sure what I have in common with!

Maybe we should have an 'over the fence' type thread on a daily basis (like the OS board) but I personally love the diaries. I don't have my own (far too lazy to keep it up) but they are part of the 'community'.

It like saying lets put everyone in a pigeon hole and give them their own board........

LEAVE IT AS IT IS !!!! I should officially hang out on the mortgage free board not the dfw board, but I like the feeling that there are always other people around on thi board, whereas on there you can sometimes have to wait several hours for a decent "conversation" to develop on a thread. Here it is possible to "chat" with others and that would be lost if we were spilt into different sub-boards
