I don't think it's worth trying to interact with anthorn, it would appear I'm not fluent enough in Trollese to make him understand, and he appears to have a knack of just regurgitating the same rubbish over and over in posts without ever trying to learn anything.
The saying that ignorance is bliss is an apt description for him, it seems...
Not worried d123, if doesn't want expand his knowledge it's up to him.
But with an attitude and a closed mind like his, he won't get far in life.
Young minds nowdays are closed to anything that doesn't fit their world veiw.
Most of the things I use now weren't around when I was young, mobiles and personal computers included. I had to learn about them to be anle to use them i fully. That is the meaning of my signature.
As for the original Nokia 3310, I had one for a while. Did the job, calls and texts. Went for 3 swimming lessons in the toilet after it fell out of my top pocket. Survived every time. How many high priced phones can do that.
As they used to say about the 3310. Drop a modern smartphone onto concrete and you'll break the screen. Drop a 3310 and you will break the concrete. The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!0 -
Getting back to the retro 3310....... I had one. Great phone for the time, but I can't see why anyone would buy a new 3310 when spec and pricewise, there are other Nokia handsets that outspec the neew 3310 and undercut it substantially on price too.
Also, I believe, but not 100% sure, will last longer on battery life.
And I believe the 105 and 130 support 3G.0 -
My old one still has two bars of battery left on it so I won't be upgrading0

I don't know what the fuss is all about. You've been able to get basic Nokia phones for years and you still can (Nokia 105 etc.).0

Releasing this phone guaranteed that Nokia would get a ton of media coverage for a few days... whereas their new Android phones were unlikely to get much of a mention.0

Not a bad phone option for young secondary school kids with whom you are delaying the smart option.
Appreciate there are cheaper Nokias that do the same thing but, hey ho, you pay for the colour/styling.
Thnk the 2G/3G argument is a red-herring - people with this phone aren't going to be online much. They're either getting PAYG or the cheapest contract going - for occasional use. EG Virgin do it for £80 with 300 mins/ulimited texts for a year. After cost of phone @ £40 (more generally £50 in fact), it works out £3.33/month for the contract
Not bad for the right user.
BTW: Careful of fakes on auction sites etc. Genuine article is much better built. Quick tell is whether the charging port is on the top or bottom - it should be on the top.0 -

I was just looking at some reviews of this the other night. They've even ruined snake!0
