The thing about people saying you need a non smartphone for a good battery life doesn't make sense. Smartphones such as the Moto Z Play, the battery life is about 23 hours. The majority of people go home in the evening, so charging the phone each day is easily done.

Perhaps it doesn't make sense to you because you're too unimaginative to think of a single scenario in which someone might value longer battery life over having a touchscreen?

What i can't work out is why Nokia never implemented 3g it don't make sense because anyone with a three network sim won't work in it all the other main networks have 2g so won't effect them it still looks a nice phone and i would buy one just to use on my O2 sim i have had for years.

I can think of such scenario, but I meant generally which applies to about 99% of people.

The new 3310 isn't aimed at the 99% of people who want a smartphone.

Fond memories. Oh yeah, now I can retire my old Siemens backup phone. I wonder if it still has NITZ.

To those who are lamenting that it's only 2G, that's the point of it :)

So the point of this as a back up phone is for it not to work on the cheapest PAYG network available in the U.K.?

    Ok...

which kills its use as an emergency back up phone that may go months between uses.

    Which network is that?

As far as I know all networks have 2G and work on 2G. Phone calls and text (SMS) messages work with 2G. 3G and 4G is for email and internet.
