GettingThereSomeTime, that's brilliant. My mum put on 12lb when she went on a cruise, and she said she ate more sensibly than a lot.

Managed yesterday without going off plan, which is an achievement for a weekend day

    Today's plan:
Breakfast - toast and lemon curd
    Lunch - miso noodles
Dinner - kievs, potato salad and asparagus

    HA - milk and cheese
HB - although my toast was white bread, only had amount allowed for a HB, and as I'm not allowed wholemeal, my consultant says to count it as a HB as it'sas close as I can get.
    Syns - butter (3), lemon curd (2), miso (0.5), salad dressing (1)

Black dog visiting :( really suffering with sciatica. Never had it in both sides before or for as long (into 4th week tomorrow). Wi with another gain admittedly only .4lb but no particular reason for it. Was really back on it now back to work.

I know there are worse problems out there but being in constant pain and not sleeping is really effecting me. Back to Dr to see if anything can be done :(

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend, sorry for the moan :(

Feel free to moan, and don't apologise for it. We are all here to support each other.
Pain and not sleeping are really difficult things to deal with. Thankfully I haven't experienced pain that has lasted more than a few weeks, but I do understand the issue of not sleeping thanks to my husbands snoring and sleep apnea, and it really gets you down.

Take care of yourself, and I hope your doc can help.

Sorry to hear you're in pain tie but I'm glad you're going back to the GP. Hopefully they can help you.:A

The lamb dauphinoise sounds tasty denise. I'd have to be very disciplined to not eat more than a single portion.:o

I know what you mean about willpower being hard to find at weekends kathrynha (and I think tete mentioned it too). The past two days I've eaten a Welshcake mid-evening. I wasn't hungry but did enjoy them although I probably didn't have the spare syns. I'm just trying to eat as healthily as I can between social occasions at the moment (story of my life) but I haven't done too badly since last Tuesday.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk
L: veggie (tomato, mushroom, courgette) omelette with gherkins
D: roast lamb, SW roasties and parsnips, swede and carrot mash, cabbage, cauli and broccoli
Syns: HM gravy and weekend wine:D

Can't guarantee I'll only have one portion Maman! but I'll try. Am going to do loads of veg as well in the hope I can stick to one portion - I just haven't got the syns to spare this week to be greedy!

Hello there, I'm thinking about joining slimming world but before I set out to join a class (I think I would benefit from the group support) can I just ask : I am 5 foot 8 (and a half to be exact) and currently weigh 10 stone 10 lbs which when I look at the chart shows i'm ok. I don't want to get to class and be turned away - i'm already dreeeeeeaaaading going. 2 years ago ..and all my life before that I was a standard size 10. Last year I went to a 12 bottom and this year I am in a size 14 bottom. I want my thighs and bottom back!! Ideally I think I want to lose 10 lbs, would this be a realistic target I could be supported with?? Many thanks
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

According to the website they will let you join as long as you have at least 7lb to lose, and I don't think your target can have a bmi below 20. For your height, your minimum target I think is 9 stone 6, so from your current weight that's 18lbs so even for allowing some inaccuracy in your scales, you wont be turned away, and your 10lb target will be fine.

I don't think you'll be turned away. I'm just half an inch taller than you and my target weight is 10 stone 7 although I'm happier at 10st 3. I'm a size 12, although it does depend on the brand.

I'd just go for it if I were you. If you're still unsure, look at the 7 day sample menu on the website and give that a go. Do ask any questions you want on here. We're a friendly lot.:)
