Friday's menu:
Lunch:bacon, eggs, toast (HEB) with marg (1/2 syn),and an apple
Snack: 4 Kalio milk chocolate mini rice cakes (will have to look for the syns of it)
Tea: hunters chicken (passata as speed)with 8g cheese (just under 2syns),rice,swede,roast butternut squash (absolutely devine!,syns for squirts of oil),sugar-snap peas.
Fast walking 23 minutes
Have only had about half my milk allowance in cups of tea .I am not sure if that means I am supposed to syn it.Not sure if ,with 8 g of cheese with the huters chicken I am splitting my HEA,or what.I am sort of counting on the fact that I have been under my syns for a couple of days,so even if they are both fully synned,I will be ok .
I am looking for opinion.Could people let me know their thoughts please.
I have reached target twice on SW since March 2011.Both times I was going to group, which I really enjoy-love the social aspect,a lovely group, love getting out every week-it is "my time".For different reasons, the group hasbeen through a number of leaders, some really good, others not so much.I didn't like the leader that was there when I drifted away 18 months ago, though I know she has also left to concentrate on a group closer to her home, which is fair enough.I don't really know the current leader, though people say she is good.
I have been doing SW from home for nearly 2 weeks.I think I am doing really well-lost 4lb last week, think I am doing it all right. However, loooking on different pages,it seems there are some changes (olive oil not a HEB anymore?,new foods on the market that I don't know how many syns and my books too old to look up.....after posting here, going to spend hours looking up the syns of the rice cakes I ate 9 hours ago:eek:).
Sooooooooooooo,I wonder about going to group. What I think I would actually like to do,is go back to the local group, say, this MOnday ,tell them I am an out of target member, buy some up to date books, maybe get weighed, though I am not sure if they are going to charge me for every week I then stay away until I reach target. Can I do that?
Because then what I think I would do is stay away again then start going back to group(and stay for the talk) when I am getting close to target.
It really does throw me when the leader changes. And in all of them,I think we have only had 2 really good ones. The most excellent one we ever had has a couple of groups a week, but they are about 1/2 hour drive away.I have always said if I was going to go back to group,I would go to hers.I wonder if ,when it comes to it,would I?

Kallo Mini Rice Cakes, Belgian Milk Chocolate Coated (21g bag) 5 - are these the ones?

You can split your Healthy Extras, so half milk and half cheese is fine.

Some info above in red.
This is quite a conundrum, and I'm not sure how you'd stand with SW T&Cs but I'd go to a (different?) group as a new member just to get the up to date books, then follow the plan at home until you're back in target range, then return to group as a target member with your certificate. The target members on the thread will probably be able to advise if that's possible.

I went to a different class this morning whilst my car was having its MOT. It was a male consultant and he was excellent. Full of enthusiasm and loads of people stayed to class so he must be good as I've found you can tell a good consultant by how many members stay on for the clappy bit.
Cricket season starts today and I'm off to watch in a few minutes. At least it's not a home game or I'd be up to my neck in baking and sandwiches right now. It's alternate so I won't be able to go to that new class next week.
Menu today.
Hea skimmed milk
Heb burgen soya and linseed (2 slices so 5.5 syns)
Brunch bacon and mushroom sandwich
Snacks at match hifi (3) blueberries, Apple
Late tea cpasta something depending on when we get in.
Enjoy your weekend everyone.0 -
I slipped yesterday and ate a cupcake at work and a small bit of Easter egg at home
Todays plan:
B: FF Yog, banana & mini Weetbix (HExB)
L: Omelette with leftover roasted veg from last night dinnerSW ready meal cos DH bought some yellow stickered stuff that would be way off plan. I've told him that he will have to feed my portion to DD.
HExA Milk in tea
Syns - none planned but may have a glass of wine later
PS A colleague told me yesterday that my dress was looking looser on meThats despite putting on 1/2lb this week

Thank you for the help,Lois.I will have more of a thunk as to what to do.
Re the Kallos,it is hard to tell from the photo, but the package contains 6 individual wrapped bags. Each bag weighs 14g and contains 4 mini rice cakes(which are about 4cm diameter). I had one of those bags of 4

Saverupper - the only Belgian choc mini rice cakes I can find online is a 21g bag which are 5 syns so I'd guess that your 14g bag would be 3.5 syns. HTH.
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs with baby spinach on toast
L - sweet chilli prawn noodles - noodles, prawns, cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, spring onions; chilli flakes, sweet chilli sauce 1.5 syns
D - pork steaks; leeks & mushrooms in half fat creme fraische (not sure how much yet will measure when I make but it's 4 syns per 100ml so I would think that would be a max but maybe a bit more or less); mash, cabbage
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - sweet chilli sauce 1.5; creme fraische 4; may have a G&T this evening (3 syns)

saverupper, I think you should definitely go to a group ASAP and get the new books. Then you can decide whether to return or use the up to date books at home. While basic foodstuffs are listed at the back of the book you'll only have access to synsonline for lots of branded goods by going regularly. I think you have to have a minimum of 7lbs to lose before you can join a group so you could go it alone with your new books and then rejoin close to target and then it's free (including website access) provided you stay within a 6lbs window.
If you enjoyed the social side then I'd suggest you travel to the consultant you like. If one week you're too busy then you could go to any group and weigh and go. HTH.
I did savoury mince in the SC last night as I put cottage pie on the menu for later in the week. Portioned it up for the freezer this morning.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk
L: veggie (mushroom, tomato, courgette) omelette with pickleschicken 'kiev', SW chips, tomatoes, mushrooms, mixed veg (asparagus, mange tout, baby corn, peas)
Syns: weekend wine
ETA: when I went to buy mange tout and sweetcorn in Aldi yesterday I noticed that it's cheaper per kg to buy mixed packs (corn and greens together) rather than separately. It probably wouldn't be true for the carrot/broccoli combination but it worked for what I was buying.0 -
Well yesterday went wrong

Has any one got any SW friendly ideas or recipes for cooked ham?? I cooked a gammon joint a couple of days ago for something that didn't come off, so I've got a lot to eat! (OH is veggie so can't help me out with it.) I'll have some tonight with veggies and slice some for salads but a bit stuck for other ideas.0

Pea and Ham Soup
Ham Hash
Ham, Egg and SW chips
Slice and freeze in portions - this is what I do because I don't like most supermarket hams, the deli stuff is expensive with the amount I eat so I buy a small gammon, roast it and slice0
