thanks everyone. managed to scrape a STS this week shala - better than giving up. need to really go for the next challenge though

    today I've had:
breakfast: fruit and fibre ( I know its not technically a heb any more but doesn't seem to affect my weightloss measuring out a 30/35g portion) with milk from hea
    mid morning: an apple
just now: some seafood sticks with tomatoes, lettuce, carrot and cabbage (grated)
tonight will be meatballs (5syn) with sauce (3syn) and pasta

can anyone help with the syns in roast chicken flavoured Ko-Lee go noodle pots 65g? I can supply nutritional info if any help?

I have been brave and made myself a doctors appointment to talk to someone about the anxiety. however now I'm anxious about having an appoint for anxiety - I think my issues have issues at the moment and they need confronting :/

going out soon for a walk which should help pep me up for this afternoon.

booked in to get my brows and lashes done on Monday. as a little self care/prep for spending next weekend in London. hopefully that helps build me up a little

I had a panic attack (in front of dr) from the anxiety of waiting to see the dr about my anxiety :rotfl: helped though :D
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Thanks for doing the chart, Shala - and well done on SOTW, Beanie! :T

Well done to all the losers this week :j, and welcome to all newbies... :hello:

Sorry to hear about your STS, bubbs :( - its disheartening when you've been good and the scales don't reflect that, but please keep going. You've done so well, so far - even if you average out your loss over 4 weeks, you must be thrilled with what you've achieved!

TIE - well done for going to the doctor, and don't worry about having the panic attack. In many ways, it was good that you had one in front of the doctor, because they can see exactly what you are going through... :grouphug:

Well, I weighed in this morning and it was a STS. Relieved more than anything because it certainly wasn't deserved - I have been bad and off plan most days this week... :naughty: Easter Bunny chocolate, hot cross bun, wine, McDonalds (don't ask! :wall:), and birthday cakes for colleagues at work - 3 different types of lemon cake...buttercream...lemon curd...icing...lemon drizzle syrup...:doh: Need I go on?! Its a wonder the scales didn't scream when I got on , so I realise that I was very lucky this week. However, I am also very aware that it can come back to bite me on my (not terribly small :p) bottom next week, so I am going to try and be extra good this week, so that it doesn't catch up with me!! :o

    Today's menu has been...
B: Smoked salmon & scrambled eggs
L: Creamy cheese mug shot (1½ syns) with a salad (lettuce, Chinese leaf, cucumber & spring onion)
D: Keema matar from the SW Curry Club book (5% beef mince, onions, passata, tomato puree, chicken stock, garlic, ginger, curry powder, peas and a finely chopped red chilli) with orzo pasta, and a side salad of cucumber, tomato and red onion. First time I'd made it - its completely free and delicious, so would recommend it. And there's enough left over for us to have another meal...even better!
Followed by chopped pear and fat free Greek yoghurt.
HExA: Milk used in a White Choc Options (2 syns) - very luxurious to make it entirely with milk... ;)
    HExB: Orange Choc hi-fi bar

Am just planning food for the week now, so will be back to post tomorrow's menu in a little while...I hope!

Well done missli . Have you just made up your meal plan from what you've got in? Most of us try to buy in foods that are low syn, leaving the syns for treats.

That's irritating bubbs . You're right that bodies can hold on to fat if you don't eat enough. If you can't eat carbs, can you fill up on Speed and lean meat?

I really enjoyed my dinner. It was good to have some veg. Restaurants don't serve enough veg IMO.

I'd firstly like to say thank you to everyone for the warm welcome to this thread.

The chilli was leftover from yesterday, no added fat, and made with extra lean mince. I cook fairly healthily. It's just I have no discipline with sticking to just healthy food. :o

The biopot is one I really like, but next time will go for a 0% alternative.

I did go to my local M&S food Hall for salad stuff. I didn't need the biscuits, so will leave them off in future (they are really nice though :D). The quinoa spelt mix would be less syns if I left the dressing off, but it has almonds, and pistachios and was a filling meal.

Looking at everyone's posts I'm better aiming for around 5 syns?
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

Agree with everything Maman has posted.

Missli - no, you're not better off going for 5 syns a day at the moment as you've only just started. Try to make your meals low syn so it leaves your syns available for treats - whether that be chocolate, sweets, biscuits or wine. It's best to stick at the top end of syns to start with as it gives you somewhere to cut back later on if your plateau with your losses.

So it was WI for me this morning and not very happy with a STS as I checked my weekly syns as was under the 105 so expected a small loss of 1/2lb which would have been perfect and got me back into target range; but no matter just need to try again this week although after today it might be a bit difficult!

Have been to a good friend's "wake" but there was so much non-SW food. I did my best to start with - egg mayo & cress sandwich on WM (I checked it was WM not malted wholegrain or anything else!) so counted as HEB; crabsticks, small piece of bacon & egg quiche (no cheese) so 12 syns; tomatoes; few bits of lettuce! Went back later for some more and all the crabsticks, tomatoes & lettuce had gone and ended up with a bit of carrot cake 24 syns:eek:. No alcohol as unfortunately had to drive so DH was drinking (makes a change he says!!!)

Had to drive on the motorway for only about the 3rd time in the driving life (only been driving since mid 80s, lol!) and was a nervous wreck by the time I got home so have now had a few glasses of wine to calm down)

My total for today has ended up at 51 syns - not so bad as I'd said I'd flexisyn today and use 50 syns but it only leave me with 54 syns for the rest of the week, so only 9 syns a day.

    Today's menu:

    No breakfast

Lunch:bacon,eggs,tomatoes,1 slice wholemeal bread with flora light (1/2 syn)

Snacks: an apple, leftover sweet potato (maybe a syn,1.5 because coated in oil,as opposed to the low-syn spray I used on my serve last night:when making them for last night's tea,I coated about 5 sweet potaotes (enough to serve 6),with only one tab of oil,so even they would not have had many syns

Tea: chilli con carne and rice.

Dessert: meringue (3 syns) with greek yoghurt (free),raspberries and strawberries

HEA: skimmed milk in cups of tea
    SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
    Pinecone £301,Valued Opinions £10.50

You deserved those wine syns when you got home denise .:)

missli , the reason many of us have few or no syns some days is because we save them up for weekends. I'd agree with denise that you should have your 105 syns every week. You can always cut back if needed.

There's no problem using your syns for whatever you want. If you enjoy the M&S salad and cookies then that's fine. Some people like to save up others like a treat every day. You can choose. :)

    Right, tomorrow's menu:

B: Cheese (HExA) omelette with mushrooms & tomatoes
    L: Leek & potato soup
D: Jacket potato with baked beans and stir-fried vegetables (mushrooms, courgettes, onions & celery) - to make a change from a "side salad"... :rotfl:
    HExB: Probably a hi-fi bar

Now, a cry for help, please. I finally bit the bullet and bought a packet of Scan Bran this morning at my meeting. I struggle to get my HExB in - on non-work days I tend to have cereal and milk which uses both HEs, but on work days, I use cheese as my HExA at breakfast, and then usually resort to a hi-fi/Alpen light bar for my HExB. Somebody at class was talking about turning them into "tiramisu", soaking them first in black coffee, and then layering them with mullerlight coffee yoghurts and leaving them overnight...and I thought that sounded OK...

Can anybody give me any other brilliant ideas to help me fit Scan Bran into my menus, please? I have heard that they are quite hard-going to get through 5 in the normal fashion, and I know I have to drink a lot of water with them, but my consultant said this morning that they are very good to help with the weight loss, so I thought "what the heck!" and thought I'd give them a go! :p

Now I've got them home I don't feel so brave... :o

    Thanks!

There are various "cakes" using scanbran. Google is your friend. One of the women at my group often makes cakes for tasters using scanbran and some of them are really good. Haven't got any of the recipes to hand but pretty sure there are loads available. Just remember whatever you do with them they need a good soak to soften.

Have to admit I've never actually used them in my 7 years membership of SW! Never really felt the need as there are plenty of other things I can have for HEB!
