Had a fantastic day today after my work hen party last night. Was up at 7.30 to train - really forced me not to drink too much knowing I'd be sweating it out the next morning. Did the run and training fasted and it made such a difference. Was such a gorgeous day that we them went to a local park for tennis / general mucking about.
Worked through the evening once I'd put my little one to bed (his 4 year old temper tantrums are getting more bearable). Then had a bath.
Money wise ; limping to the end of the month but it is self imposed and deliberate as I put a fair wack in savings. Next month (the wedding!!?? How has that come round so fast!?) will be spendy for sure.
    Grateful for :
    The Sun
    Sky high energy levels
My colleagues who organised the most amazing hen party
    My family

SkintTeacher well done on the training and saving.

Not done much today but pleased with last night's work. Cleared the bed, remade it with clean sheets (crawling across the bed smoothing the sheets), had a bath and got in it about 10am. Slept most of the day but fed the washer and the line when ever I woke up.

Today I am grateful for what I have achieved, for a lovely sleep and for simple food - leftovers, 2 bananas and a piece of cheese, fish pie, cough medicine and ys ice cream.

    Evening everyone,

Well we’ve had a mild and sunny day up in Scotland for a change.

Woke up relatively early, did a wash and hung it outside. Then the little one and me walked to the library where I returned a DVD and book. I had another DVD out on loan which I’ve not got round to watching so I renewed that for another week at the cost of £1.

Came back home for a bit then headed out with my sister and niece. First stop was a shopping centre where I picked up a gilet for the little one, then we made our way to a country park where we spent the rest of the day. They had a small zoo for which I paid £1.35 entry and I bought lunch from the cafe there but resisted an ice cream.

This evening I started watching Elementary on Now TV which I am quite enjoying and I have also opened a new library book. Tomorrow is meant to be even better weather wise so I have done another wash which I will hang out in the morning. I’ve done a few surveys too, would feel strange if I didn’t incorporate these into my day!

Happy Mother's Day (or Mothering Sunday tp be more correct).

Sorry for late check in, turtles, had to deliver mum's card in person. This may be a bit muddled because 'clearing the bed' involved putting all the papers and pens in a bag and I want to sort them properly, not just tip them all out again.

    Day Twenty Six
    Use It or Lose It
Suppleness and flexibility. Exercise isn't just about strength, how far you can run or how much weight you can lift. Women are usually more supple and flexible and this is important as we get older (as bits seize up).

I am enjoying cleaning my toes precisely because I can reach forward in the bath and do it after all the months when such movements were impossible and even forbidden (no baths for 3 months after my op). Mum has said today that she is finding it easier to get up off the floor by going onto her hands and knees and using a chair. There are many things she cannot do but this has got easier - just as well as she went to sleep in a chair the other night (partner had moved onto her part of the bed) and fell on the floor whilst asleep.

So remember to include flexibility into your fitness routine. I think the embroidery is a double edged sword - for a long time it will keep my hands moving (like playing the piano) but eventually it may lead to arthritis - still my x-rays showed no problems other than the hip (now replaced) so will keep doing what I am as long as possible.

    Day 26 Wellbeing
Buy yourself some flowers (or a plant). I was reluctant to put this one in earlier as flowers are at a premium just now. But in the coming few days, prices will drop so you have permission to buy some ys. If you object to flowers for environmental reasons (well documented elsewhere) you could buy a plant or a packet of seeds (home grown flowers are sound) or something to put in your garden. Even a herb plant (I often get the SM ones ys'd to 10p) for your windowbox. ccl you are exempt if you want to be.

    Inspiration
I like to take one day at a time - but sometimes a lot of days rush at me, all at once.

Hope everyone has had a lovely day, however they have spent it :)

Beautiful day, weather wise here. OH, myself and the 2 smalls walked to the supermarket with a list with 5 things on (all things where the shelves were empty yesterday :() and the smalls spent some of their own money on Leg0 (total £17 between them) Total just under 4 miles and a nice walk in the sun :)

Day has been mainly spent on housework - 2 loads of washing done and line dried (will tackle ironing in a mo), some boxes put back in loft, family room totally tidied and cleaned by OH, all of downstairs vacuumed and polished, DS1 vacuumed the stairs and cleaned the boys' bathroom, I baked 2 dozen bread rolls and OH baked a Victoria sponge and I cooked a roast for dinner this evening and invited my mum. Used up some red cabbage and bread sauce in the freezer from Xmas :) and some parboiled parsnips in there for a year! Had a bottle of pink fizz (from the supplies in the garage - we've had this particular bottle for 2 or 3 years) and Skyped DD (at uni) this evening :D

My presents today were 2 garden ornaments and some flowers which I chose yesterday (and I paid for, as they were in with the shopping lol) - I eschewed the 'special' Mothering Sunday bouquets in favour of 2 bunches of chrysanthemums - 1 lilac, 1 cream - they match the living room, last for a good length of time and I didn't pay over the odds for a 'special' bouquet (the 2 bunches cost me £4.18 :D) For my mum I got a wooden planter, a bottle of her favourite wine (was included in our order from La1thwa1tes earlier this year) and some miniature choc bars.

Two more (small) fleebay sales this weekend :) - I will post those tomorrow using RM survey stamps.

    Today I am grateful for:
    * lovely weather
    * a walk to the shop with my family
    * family mucking in to get things done
    * Skyping my gorgeous girly

oops - wrote this last night and forgot to post.

Today I am grateful for the sunshine, for flowers showing off their bright colours, for big sis's train being a few mins early and mine being a few mins late so we had about 4 mins to catch up, for mum letting me borrow a wheelie suitcase as my rucksack's zips were kaput, for a smooth journey home, for dd and dh coming to meet me on the last bit of walking home, for the lovely card dd made for me, for watching Toy Story 3 (gotta love the great escape), for a snuggly bed.

    Afternoon everyone,

    Today I am grateful for:
    • A day off - time to stop and reflect and recharge
    • Sunshine!!! It lifts my spirits (and I can peg out laundry!)
    • For the support from my Boss in resolving an issue that's caused me stress
So - I've achieved my NSDs this month = 15. However...

I think I blew my budget somewhat. Luckily - one of my savings accounts matures and I'll hopefully be clearing stuff and starting from a level standing again... and closing some credit cards.

Thank you Mothernerd for the daily posts - they've really helped cheer me up even though this month I haven't checked in every day. I've done some of the Use it or lose it challenges, where I can.

I've said it before - my emotions seem tied to my financial situation - and this month I have felt stretched, drained, empty and that I let myself down. Emotionally I have felt the same. Pay day today - and I feel full again and in-control... There's a lesson there... Better planning and self-control... and don't spend if my mood is low haha

So I'm planning my budget for April which feels positive... The rest of this month will be a no-spend except maybe Friday. I'm planning a week of just recharging at home and catching up with myself.

keep up the good work folks... You're doing awesome.

    ;)

I hope you all had a lovely day, wherever you went to. As expected mum's card made her cry (just a little bit). I did warn her. I had given her her presents on Thursday - several bottles of handwash and some chocolate brazils (not posh but just what she needed/ wanted) + usual favourite sweets. I seem to know my mother a lot better than she knows me.

    Day TwentySeven
    Use It or Lose It
I' m going to be lazy and revisit outdoor space / local parks. The Council magazine has arrived today and it has cleared a few mysteries. One of the tits I saw on my walk around the country park was a willow tit (50 of the NorthWest's 114 breeding pairs are regulars at our country park) and the 'albino heron' was a Great White Egret. The bittern (a secretive brown 'heron- like bird) also got a mention - they use the park on the far side of the borough, wheere I used to volunteer.

It gives me a new reason to get fit (must write a list and put it somewhere prominent) as I would like to do more conservation work.

There is another article about the little cows I want to go looking for. The Council has brought Galloway cows to the borough. The are a highland rare breed - I love the red highland cows but these are really sweet - mottled coats and only as high as the fences. They are being used on some of our green spaces.

Most of our green spaces are former slag heaps so the soil is poor and the grass is coarse and tall. These cows love the grass (and don't get fat by over-eating). They open up the space for wading birds and give wild flowers choked by the grass some much needed space and light (and presumably add fertiliser). The presence of birds and foliage encourages people to use the space more.

Now I nearly want to drive because they want voluntary 'shepherds' to move the cows from one location to another.

    Day TwentySeven Wellbeing
    Stretch

I do this when I am not feeling very energetic - I pretend I am a cat and move on the bed in as many different ways I can think of.
