How many months do you reckon I have to wait? I desperately want a new phone.

Is there a problem with your current phone? If it's working, why the rush to get yourself in debt?

Going to be a long six months, but thanks

It's so slow and is old. I can't use data if I'm not connected to wifi and can't make calls or texts.

It's more the sim. I want to be able to use data when not connected to wifi and make calls and texts.

Also my phone is embarrassingly old lol. I wouldn't see the point in spending lots on a new good phone then getting another on contract.

I always thought a contract was better and cheaper than payg.

Then you have 6 months to go, find a job (can be part time) and save up for the phone you so badly want rather than getting in debt.

No, it isn't. But instead of assuming, you can do the actual math of how much premium will you pay for stuff.
  • If they couldn't match your address, there may never have been a credit search - it could be simply that they couldn't find you.

Check your address is up to date on your credit files and that you're on the electoral roll at your current address before doing anything else. FYI when I just turned 18 (6 years ago but anyway...), O2 didn't like me but Vodafone did.
