If your wanting to visit Dubai quite often during your stay then its not worth it. As far as i know, Abu Dhabi is an 1hr away from Dubai. So 2hr travelling there and back in 40+ temperature.
If your looking for some traditional sight seeing, then id go for sharjah. Or better still, stay in dubai, and plan day trips to abudhabi and sharjah.0 -

One option for flights may be to fly to Abu Dhabi and then take a taxi to Dubai. Flights to AUH are often cheaper than DXB. There is an airline called Etihad which flies twice a day from London to AUH and even offers a free bus transfer to Dubai. If you live near London this way you also don't have to connect through Paris or AMS to get cheap fares.
As far as the climate is concerned though I will just tell you what an expat living in Dubai said to us when we were in Dubai last winter. They said no matter how cheap it is don't go during the summer - it's so hot that you quite literally can't bear to spend more than a few seconds away from air conditioning. Save your money and go for a shorter time when it's more expensive and cooler. We have been twice in November and cannot recommend it highly enough at that time of year.0 -
Is it really that hot!Max Millionaire191 007:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T0

Well, imagine the hottest summer's day we get in the UK - say around 30 degrees centigrade. Then add another fifteen to twenty degrees!
You certainly cannot spend more than an hour or two a day by the pool.
On the other hand in November the temperature is typically around 26 degrees with thirteen hour sunshine per day - and it's 5 degrees and raining at home.

An Indian barman at the One and Only told me it was so hot and humid even they couldn't stand it.If they can't stand it, and they are aclimatised, then a UK tourist would struggle. It could turn a dream into a nightmare if you are couped up inside all day.0
