Hey Joe, Im travelling similar dates to yourself....cheapest flights i found was with KLM via amsterdam. Im going on honeymoon, on the 18th to the 27th from glasgow to amsterdam to dubai. Total cost for flights was £720.
I got them from the flight centre(https://www.flightcentre.co.uk), who will price match and beat any other quote that you get.
Hotel wise...you will find some very cheap deals on hotels....depending on what website your checking. Im staying a few nights in the hilton dubai creek for £84 a night, and the shangri la for £94...these are both top notch 5 star hotels.

Some good sites to get prices for your flights

    Hi folks,

I am looking at going to Dubai at the end of the July and am finding the prices to be SKY HIGH.

The cheapest I have found is

    2 flights for £632.00
    &
    7 night’s accommodation in a 3 star hotel - £180

    Total = £812

Has anyone being and can recommend any tips please

    Thanks in advanced.

Joe, I very much doubt ud be able to lie on the beach at all during the july dubai heat. Temperatures are gonna be around 45 degrees and apparantly meant to be very humid. We are planning on sleeping thru the majority of the day and venturing out after 4pm to try avoid the sun as much as possible.

Im gonna be doing most of my staying in the city...at most it will cost 5 quid to get to the beachs from the city via taxi....and u will save money over the high priced beach hotels.

I think i am going to do it this way with regards to staying in the city.

I am going to try and book my own flights and accommodationa to see if that works out cheaper. The Ibis world trade centre and the San Marco are coming up the cheapest as £35.00 a night

I can't beleive i have missed out on the KLM Flights at £220. Doh !

    back to finding flights

    yes abu dhabi is crap
    nothing to see there.
  • I’ve managed to book myself 5 nights in Dubai finally at a decent price of £290 per person Inc taxes, travelling from Manchester by Air France.

I’ve been searching on numerous websites trying to get a cheap price for the dates that I wanted and I have a few tips to share:

Lastminute.com are one of the cheapest sites for flights. Also if you visit https://www.flightcentre.co.uk and phone them, they will in most cases price beat your best price. They beat the deal I got at last minute.com by just £4.00, but I chose not to go with them, as I would have got £2.00 referral money via Rpoints and I would have to fax through 4 pages of the flights booking papers and term and conditions signed which would have cost me around £1.60 + petrol cost so it would have been easier for me in my case just to go with lastminute.com.

Goingplaces usually offer good deals on rail tickets to the airports, its costing me £14 per person return to travel from Leeds to Manchester Airport.

Hope the above is of help to someone.
Now can someone help me with the questions below:

Cheapest Travel insurance for a couple travelling to Dubai for 5 nights?

    Where to buy currency from?
Would I get a better rate purchasing currency from Dubai, if so where should I purchase this? E.g. at the airport when I arrive?

    Hotel advice required – location?
    Websites that offer good deals?
Would it be better for me to purchase my hotel when I arrive at the airport?
Problem is I arrive at 22:00, so would there be any risk there?

Finally, which websites can I visit to research Dubai and now where all the shops/sights etc are?

    Thanks in advance.

    Apart from the price.

Abu Dhabi is very traditional arabic city where as Dubai is very much more international and westernised. Dubai is more geared towards the tourist/business traveller.

Now can someone help me with the questions below:
    >>Cheapest Travel insurance for a couple travelling to Dubai for 5 nights?
I bought a years cover from Egg, unlimited trips and covers ur whole family. Costs only £50. Check the egg website for details.

    >>Where to buy currency from?
Exchange your money at the airport in dubai. That is where you will get the best rate of exchange.

    >>Hotel advice required – location?
    check out https://www.tripadvisor.com
It has visitor reviews of all the main hotels in dubai. Actual reviews by people who have stayed in the various hotels. I found it invaluable when choosing hotels to stay in. It has a very good forum specifically for Dubai( or any other city).

    >>Websites that offer good deals?
Ive got a few sites bookmarked which seem to offer good deals. What ive found tho is, that majority of the sites are all within few pounds of each other...so if you have a prefered supplier/website...phone them and quote your best price and they will probably match it. Will list the websites tomorrow.

    >>Finally, which websites can I visit to research Dubai and now where all the shops/sights etc are?
    Try the forums at
    https://www.tripadvisor.com, https://www.virtualtourist.com and https://www.timeoutdubai.com

Ok Ok back to looking for Duabi then.

The Abu Dhabi deal was 7 nights B&B at the Hilton for £473.00

    Would this change your mind?
