Try it from a different PC or delete all your temp files, clear your cache and cookies and try again, I've known this to happen to me with flights before. When I had a look at Swiss worked out about £220 each, think so anyway but can't be sure.2p off is still 2p off!0

has anyone stayed in this hotel?
i`m planning a surprise anniversary trip for me and my wife next july.
i know it will be hot and humid.
people been saying hotel food expensive but don`t state how much.just wonderd how much a meal for 2 would be and how much the beer and wine is.
also is it possible to have a bottle of wine in resturants outside of the hotel
done a few searches on holiday review sites but none seems to mention food/beer/wine prices although i did see £4.50 a pint mentioned somewhere.
would say £150.00 a day cover you for food and drink in the hotel.
gonna try and do the odd trip ,hoping to go for 7 days.
just want to relax and enjoy ourselves really and have a lazy holiday
oh yeah and what entertainment can we expect.
thanx for looking0 -
Yes £150 would cover your food and drink.Beer around £4-5 and a glass of wine is the same Quite a bit out of town but great beach life and watersports.Didn't see much entertainment but maybe I didn't look in the right places as there must be some.
Didn't find any licensed restaurants apart from hotels.
But all in all a fantastic holiday to be had really something different I would go back in a minute.travelover0 -

Its always highly overpriced, i have never bought anything from a hotel, wether it be room service, drinks or anything although the hotel owners usually hate it lol0 -
so where do you buy drinks from ,i thought it was only hotels who sold alcohol?0

We went to UAE a few years ago in April and even then it was 40 degrees so be totally prepared. Because its a muslin country, make sure the women folk in your party dress appropriately! No-one walks because of the heat but, good news, there are millions of taxis and, if memory serves me well, its about £1 to go anywhere (haggle if needs be, you'll probably win) Anyhow, you may want to consider staying in Sharzah (I think its called that) its probably a lot cheaper than Dubai, takes 20 mins by taxi, and is a lovely place. Its supposed to be "dry" (i.e. no alcohol) but if you go to hotels for a meal you can drink. If alcohol doesn't rate high in your priorities, you can eat out at night for peanuts (5 of us, typical small indian restaurant in Sharzah, cost for all the food was about £12!) Its a fabulous place, you'll love it, remember to visit the Burz Al Arab (7 star hotel) its opulently tacky but worth a half pint in their roop top bar.0

Although drink is expensive in general. Midweek a lot of bars and nightclubs do "specials". Often LADIES drink "FREE" all night. Most hotels have food promotions also.
The main Buffet resturant in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel charge aprox £20 for as much as you can eat.The choice extends from Japanese,Thai,Indian,Arabic,to European.
Very nice and good value and quality compared to home.
The Sheraton Jumeirah has "themed " buffet nights for around £15 a head. If you like a drink this is the good bit. Unlimited house wine for around a FIVER.(I dont think they had costed in the effect of my wife visiting :-)
We also had a decent "pub lunch" inc a pint for around £8 in "churchills" which is in "Sofitel" hotel attatched to the "CITY MALL"
If you are staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel the "Concierge" magazine lists all the resturants, nightclubs, entertainment available and aprox costs. Failing that -ask your hotels Concierge. These guys are a wealth of knowledge. Look after them and they will look after you0 -
You cannot now just go into the 7 star hotel for a look. You have to book a meal or afternoon tea etc.travelover0

We went in February with 2 littlies in tow. Had 7 nights at Jumeirah Beach and 3 nights at the Burj (anniversary treat!).
For children the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is fantastic - in needs re-decorating in places if you look closely, but all the rooms are sea view and huge!!! The staff are fantastic with children and it made our hol because they just ignored us and spoke to the kids! For our 5 year old she could go to the Kids Club all day until 9pm if we wanted and be fed for free! (You have to stay with the under 5's). How I wish we;d stayed at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel for all 10 nights. The BaArab is far too grandios for mere families and we couldn't even go for a swim or get across the bridge without showing our leather room fob! They charged us £120 for room service breakfast on our departure morning, after one of the staff had said it was included and we could take it anywhere! How anyone could eat the volume of food it took them 30 mins to lay out I don't know - the upshot was we couldn't leave until we'd paid it. Needless to say an e-mail directly to the GM resulted in full refund - but really marred our end to the hol. The Al Muntaha restaurant was extortionate and we didn't even get a table by the window - if you go in Feb it's dark at night anyway and you can't see the view, so do try the "underwater" one - it looked much better. (Book 6-8 weeks before you fly if you fancy one of these otherwise unless you're a guest when they "find" you a table you can't get in - disappointing the place was full of people in jeans when we'd made the effort)
The JBH was excellent - yes it was expensive to eat there £30 every meal time for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant who shared mine. I would recommend you pay the extra for the buffet tea in the Premium Leisure Club are - you'll get your money back in champers at 4pm alone. Breakfast there is great on the terrace overlooking Wild Wadi and the BaArab and self service buffet - eat all you want.
Taxi's were dirt cheap and we travelled all over. Overall, the best hol we've ever had but we'll be staying at the JBH. Has to be said lots of the staff are from overseas in the hotels and one of the kids reps was from Mauritius - she said it was unbearable in the summer and even the staff are flaking out. I think she said only a certain nationality brave July/August and it wasn't us!!
Have a great time - it's excellent!0
