    Um... lots of recipies I'm looking at are telling me to use vegetable oil. What happens if I use extra virgin olive oil?

    I'm doing chrimbo cakes tomorrow.. one for my mother which she doesn't know about.. and I guess I'll have to do one for the school christmas fayre as well.. they can always raffle it (as the booby prize!!)

    I'm definitely in for a carrot cake tomorrow too.. it is for hubby, which I know isn't in allowed as per the rules.. but I've spent all day out shopping and left hi with all 8 children and he painted the bathroom.. does it count???

    Hmm... that'll be a no then... Good thing I was £20 under budget this week, I have money to spare for this act of altruism!

    rapeseed oil is the generic vegetable oil, and with monounsaturated fats being regarded as healthiest now, it's ok, and about 1/5 of the price of extra virgin olive oil.

    Now come on.. I do this the other 6 days a week and occasionally get thorntons fudge and flowers.. and I did do the first coat of paint.. Are you sure he deserves cake?

    I've already got the olive oil y'see. Not to worry, I've changed tactics and will now be making brownies because then I can give them to lots o people :D
