  • Evening everyone
Ally - just to reiterate what has already been said. I'm a bit of a believer in things happening for a reason. So be kind to yourself and relax. If you do a mh blog I would love a link to it please :D
I've had a not-that-busy day which has literally just disappeared out from under me. I think it was when I put my head down for a 5 minute shut eye and woke up 2 hours later. Ah well - I must have needed it.
I've done my tutoring, and weekly shop in L1dl for £32.05 - thank goodness as cash is getting tight.
Now for more crochet and telly for the rest of the evening.
Welcome somuchindebt - we are a lovely bunch here.
  • Guys, thank you for the warm welcome! Crazy cat, you are lovely bunch, so helpful and supporting!

Treadingonplaymobil, thank you for the book recommendation, will definitely check it out! Shame about nutella, we love it here, kids and I could live of it. It is so unhealthy and would be good to have home made stuff. But I will stick with tasty easy solution.

I wonder if I could use frozen raspberries in bread and butter pudding, that would save me buying sultanas?

Totally. I used to make a pudding with stale pastries that had raspberries in. It was very luxurious and popular.

  • Hi all

Nothing spent today, in fact I made a quiche for tea and used up some cheese that needed eating which I was pleased about.

4 hrs paid stuff done. Dont like working on a weekend but I am so behind and I need to get the hours in.

Have cleaned the house and done loads of washing, which didnt dry outside as well as I was expecting! Took some cardboard to the recycling centre and dropped off DS1s prescription request, two jobs ticked off the list.

A productive but tiring day. Feeling a bit down at the minute so just need to keep going. No idea what is planned for tomorrow.

  • Daughter's uni day went really well, while she was off on her interview and a tour later on I filled up on free tea and posh biscuits.....no dinner needed when I got home. Plus daughter was given a lunch voucher for £5 so made sure she used it.

Ally sorry to hear u didn't get the job promotion. I'm another one that agrees with DNMS comments. I do believe everything happens for a reason, even if you do not see the good to it at the time.
So much in debt welcome:) this is a brilliant supportive thread:)

Angel good news on ur results:)

Well that's me for today.......must start diet tomorrow.....again:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi all, I love using the allrecipes uk site for cheap inspirational meals. I always shop online too saves being tempted when in store lol. can get weekly shopping for £70 - £90 for family of 6 + dog. always cook from scratch and freeze leftovers. I like sainsburys, and I have had coupons giving me £9 and £12 off weekly shop over last 4 weeks :)

Today I have walked kids to rugby training (2 miles) instead of using car. Heating turned off as weather has changed. checked bank and added to savings (small amount but it all adds up). Made lasagne and frozen leftovers.

  • Morning all! Realised I forgot to check back in with my list yesterday, so will do that before I figure out what needs doing today.

    - Do a laundry and get it out on the line rather than clogging up the radiators and needing the dehumidifier to be on. NB: laundry needs to be brought in again before it gets damp overnight for this to count! Done! Almost all dry.
    - Make bread (I make my own sourdough). Should be able to get two big/four small loaves out of the amount of starter I have currently. Done!
    - Bake banana loaf to use up manky loaves. Done! Actually baked two different ones due to excess of manky bananas.
    - Have a scan of the fridge for any other perishables that aren't going to last and try to make something to use them up. Went through baking cupboard but forgot to check fridges.
    - Go through next week's shop (already input into MySupermarket) and try to jiggle the menu plan to knock a tenner off it. We have lots of food in the house, so i'd like it to come in at £50 from Aldi/Lidl, it's currently almost £60. Managed to knock a couple of quid off by realising that my evening meal plan had two Tuesdays in it :o , but it's still at something like £55, so not perfect. Don't think I can get it any lower though.
    - eBay listings. Two done, one to go.
    - social media for work - try to schedule a couple of posts for next week as well, so if I am busy at least something will go up. Didn't schedule any, but did get a couple up yesterday.
    - Wear more clothes, rather than give into the urge to keep the heating on all day (I often turn it back on when I'm working - need to aim for more clothes before more heating!). Done! Although it was so mild that it was more down to the weather than me.
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.
