Parking tickets Scotland

Hi can someone please advise,

Registered keeper has received 3 tickets from parking eye and 1 from euro car parks.
Euro car park ticket on screen was removed so driver never got it.
No contact has so far been made with the companies but the letters being sent from drp are becoming stressful as the latest said they are referring for court action.

Should the registered keeper write to them to say they were not the driver? As in Scotland I know they cannot hold the keeper liable.

Looking at the court roles for the area it does appear companies are taking a lot of people to court now so I am concerned.
And while I know the law is different for England one person went to court and lost because they didn't contact the company to say they weren't the driver?

Scotland residents and letters from debt collectors are covered in the newbies FAQ thread!

How come the RK has received 4 private parking charges in such (an apparent) short a period of time?

  • Euro car park confused them as it said 2 free hours parking if you display a ticket - but then you had to pay for a ticket.

The other 3 were in a different car park and basically didn't know better.
  • Quentin, it says not to ignore parking eye? But to ignore the drp letters sent on their behalf?

You may care to assist this forum by saying where you get your information from and in particular where a sheriff decided that because the person did not inform the PPC who the driver was, he was guilty.

This is strange .... do please let us know

    Not sure I understand that.
