Sorry to disappoint, but I tend to think that having different opinions provides a healthy balance.
For this particular subject; I consider tattoos to be nothing more than a harmless form of self expression.

I have several tatoos and a couple of piercings, no diagnosed or outre mental heath issues, a good job, I know many tatooed and pierced people, not one in my social or outer social circle is unemployed, therefore people whith tatoos and body modifications are not unemployable, perhaps people with Mental health issues are virtualy unemployable and they are drawn to tatooing and piercing as a way to express their frustration.

I got a tattoo between my shoulders, I got it there so I can display it if I want to or cover it up! I've going to have some more done to it in a couple of weeks, as I wasn't happy with it.
If you're thinking of having one on your shoulder, make sure that its positioned so the strap of your top doesn't go straight through the middle of it afterwards!
If you want to know how you'll feel with a tattoo, try a temporary one in the place you want it. I tried one on my upper arm, and didn't feel comfortable at all with it there.

Well done in giving your opinion, now let others have theirs too without forcing yours upon them.
As for 'knowing more tattoos and piercings reducing your employability', perhaps to an extent they do but there are no statistics posted by you to back up this claim, merely to show the percentage of body modified people.
After finding this small piece of very general reserach you now know that body modifications reduces employabilty? I think you will find that whatever your opinion on a subject there will be some research to back you up, be it legitimate or not. How else would Gillian Mckeith makes so much money?!
Finally could you post the source of the research? I think it may be beneficial for some members of the forum who are interested to know.'What's poignancy grandad?'

Conspicuous, mine are relatively understated a 1/2 sleeved shirt covers all my ink, my piercings are all under cover exept one ear, some fields, well not everyone is going to be a banker or doctor for example, I work in administration for example, some of my friends work in retail, some in health care, construction, security and some are self employed consultants in IT. Another works as a call centre manager in the banking sector. You are expressing opinions based on your or the article writer's interpretation of that statistical info, were the people questioned randomly selected?. I really don't give a monkeys what you think or otherwise. Your overbearing slavish devotion to statistical evidence shows a lack of ability to interact with the real world, possibly an underlying proccessing disorder. that and your use of an obvious extreme to ilustrate your point. Post what you like. Your suggestion that because statisticaly some people with tatoos have mental problems or are unemployable that is the norm is rude and arrogant. As for the perceptions of a limited sample in a narrow sector of employers - poor at best. Consider this, people find you insulting, you obvously don't care. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
