I signed up yesterday to my local forum, though I am the only person on there in my village (and neighbouring villages apparently!)
I'll sign up for kahuti as well, I couldn't remember the name of it yesterday. Hopefully there will be someone in my area on there!0 -
Seems a lot of one time posters on here advertising this Kahuti??? Just saying....:cool:Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I don't think anyone is 'advertising this kahuti'. From what I've seen, I think they'd be delighted if they had an advertising team!
I don't work for or have any personal, financial or business connections with Kahuti. Yet I will still encourage people to look into them as I (in my opinion) think that they are an ethical community site and a good alternative to S/L. If people choose not to join then that's fine, I am simply letting people know their options unlike some e.g. Nextdoor.
If you have looked at (and into) Kahuti (including their company registration info which is publicly available) you would see that they are a genuine family run site that happened to be in development around at the same time that Nextdoor ruined S/L and thus they decided to launch in the UK.
Kahuti offer a genuinely security safe alternative to ND. The reason you may see many 1st time posters here is because Streetlifers have been heavily censored (and not informed) on the Streetlife site and as this is a public forum that offers a proper measure of publicly displayed information but is otherwise private, S/L members have had no choice but to turn to other social media sites and forums such as this one, which they otherwise would never have belonged to in order to let people know about what is going on.0 -

Well since you say they are a company I'm sure you will be able to tell us their UK company number from The UK legal register of all companies in the UK being Companies House.........0 -
They're a US website, they don't have to register at Companies House, but you can find their info here if you're interested: statuslite.com/domain/kahuti.com[/url]0

I only joined the forum to let people know what Streetlife/Nextdoor were doing, I don't care whether people join any other community sites but strongly felt that Nextdoor wasn't a good option and wanted to share that.0

And what experience do you have with streetlife? What options do you recommend that streetlife members should go to, when they are not happy with the privacy policy (or lack of one) that nextdoor use?
The time for decision making for streetlife people is fast running out - down to 4 days now. I for one, will miss it's demise with its local content - feedback from councillors over problems with road-works, to info about crime, lost pets, and offering/receiving recommendations about good tradesmen - as well as warnings about bad ones.
This thread has given me alternatives to 'nextdoor' - which is great.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Pointless moving to anything.......as soon as it gets enough members Nextdoor will make it another acquisition target and you'll be back to square one.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you
