I just had an invite in the post for this. My impression is that this site is very low on privacy and i certainly dont ant my name and address all over it if i join. I will therefore not bother. This kind of thing might work in hometown USA but not in the UK or at least not in its current format.

I like the way DB4rc encompasses the story by showing how ever growing 'blandisement' on behalf those who wish to control things only creates a predictable outcome. The problem is those that don't realise its boring think its great! Its a bit like when emap took control of KissFM and XFM and turned them into standard radio stations. now there's nothing to listen to other than people who know nothing about anything thinking they are the ones we should be listening too.
In other words those who don't talk to others aren't listening a bit like those neighbours who are tedious but think that 'Nextdoor.com is the same as being a neighbour nextdoor!
