Morning all. Sorry for being AWOL for a few days but been flat out busy and dealing with some difficult situations.

My nephew announced he was arriving in 45 minutes at half past one yesterday afternoon  Cue huge anxiety attack, not because the caravan is a slum pit, but because he is the spitting image of my first husband. Looks like him, built like him, talks, walks and moves like him. He does have brown rather than blue eyes though, but I haven't seen him in a couple of years and it completely threw me. He's been in Germany with his girlfriend for the last seven months and I've been in contact via FB and text etc. but wasn't expecting a surprise visit.

My boys loved him (Tiny hasn't met him before) and watching him with them made me sad that my first hubby and I didn't have kids, as he would've been such a fun dad. He and DH got on well - their first introduction too and he stayed until really late before heading back off to Oxford.

So that, coupled with a reunion invitation from my first husband's university class on the same day, just about did me in.

I did fly round with the hoover before nephew arrived and luckily had been good shopping in the morning, so could feed him well, Although didn't have any lacto-free milk, but I blame him for the short notice!

DH has been a prat for the last couple of days and I was glad when his best mate asked him to meet up in Birmingham tonight. Sent him off with an overnight bag and a flea in his ear...can't be arrised with his childishness ATM.

Oh, and the vet bill for Mutley went over the £1000 mark yesterday morning.

On a positive note. Floors in the house are going down well.
  • Morning,

Welcome Amzwoody, for me, s&s (swish and swipe) is just a quick wipe down, to keep on top of muck. For bathroom I just do sink and toilet quickly with an antibacterial wipe. I do it every day. (bleach down loo when needed).
For kitchen it's just a quick wipe down of worktops and table with a microfibre cloth and squirty stuff.
    Hope that helps

    Right, must get dressed!

    Welcome to the new flyers
Hugs to dizzy and whoever else needs/wants one.
Got given a few more hours at paid stuff for after half term so will be spending even more time there hoowhoo I do love my jobs.
Just need to be more organised at home and make sure I don't slack too much. Really it's using the time I have properly rather than putting stuff off.

Ds1 went London overnight to see green day with a friend but he'll be back later today.
Ds2 has the hump with me over being told to go to bed instead of sitting up gaming but I'll live with that.
Need to ring mum and arrange when we are taking her out for a meal/visiting her over half term. Already arranged similar with stepmum and dad.

Right better get on, I'll get the kettle on if anyone wants a cuppa

    Morning!

I have new specs :j but they don't take the old ones any more. Checked in the chazza round the corner and they don't either...

Ah well, it will have to wait now. Ran a couple of other errands and now I need to turn my eye to packing.

Conservatory is freezing so I've set up the run in the LR for the piggies to come inside. They seem happy on a big fleece blanket with a box of hay. Girl gp is rooting through it all to find the seed heads lol.

Will do a hh picking up and rehoming, get gym and football kits together then head up to suitcase central...

    Have a good day, all

    Welcome newbies :D

Just de-lurking to welcome our new Flyers.

Forgive me if I don't stay to chat; not in a good place just now, and I am determined not to drag the thread down. Roll on end of this month.

    Cleaned both bathroom floors
    Cleaned baths toilets and sinks
Cleared and wiped the kitchen worktops

Afternoon. All - got through my list yesterday and then some! Also had a committee meeting last night so a long day. Will need to do the minutes today or tomorrow - I always try to get them done within three days and circulated. Did my stint at my local Age Concern this morning - I have a yoga session tonight so just this afternoon to get any more odds & sods done. DGD is coming tomorrow to do my roots which usually means she will have lunch with us and bring me some mending or alterations!
After the clean up yesterday I bought a new loo brush. Why do the ' roots' of the bristles turn a manky colour when they've always been clean? Managed to buy one with black. bristles this time lol!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
