    Had some sad news last night from my old friend from home who I went to school with and who helped me through when my mum passed away, to say her dad has passed away. :( he had been poorly for a long time and is now at peace but doesn't make it any easier or less painful. I am just going to rest today. So sad

    I am so sorry. It's all happening at once. If you are up to it go and sit by the sea or go for a walk with puppy . Take solace in nature I hope it helps.

    Please read Desiderata, it is the most comforting thing I know other than some psalms:

    "..Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
    As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,
    even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
    Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
    If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
    for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
    Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
    Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
    it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
    Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery.
    But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
    many persons strive for high ideals,
    and everywhere life is full of heroism.
    Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
    for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
    Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
    Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
    But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
    Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
    Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
    You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;
    you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you,
    no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
    Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be.
    And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life,
    keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
    it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy..."

    Thank you SW for your kindness. I will take comfort from that and strive to heed the advice to gain some inner peace with it all x

    I had a trip to £1 shop today to stock up on toothpaste. We use the upright tube ones which cost much more elsewhere. Also bought some cards in card factory 4 x 59p each and stamps to send them to my friend and her mum and sisters.

    Am glad its payday tomorrow. I spoke to sainsbobs about my new credit card today and have now signed the agreement and will send it in the pre-paid envelope tomorrow.

    Had a lovely puppy walk along the shoreline this afternoon. puppy was paddling in the sea and then decided to roll in a big patch of seaweed phew stinky dog :rotfl: Managed to get her washed off before she rolled all over the carpet at home !

    How lovely to be able to go to the seaside for doggie walks. I miss living near Brighton quite often....but don't miss the traffic getting there!

    Just when I think I can get back on track with savings puppy has a water infection :( have had to pay vet fees, urine testing and medication £227 :eek: paid on credit card. Will try to transfer it to 0% card once it comes so DS can pay me back over a longer period. Have spoken to pet insurance and he is going to put in a claim but the excess is £99 so DS will have to pay that back to me.

    Had to finish work early and come home to take puppy to vet at 10.30. DS was on nights from 10pm so had to go to bed as he was too tired to drive safely.

    Payday today. Got a 6 pack of Pepsi max £2.50 and some chocolate for energy :o £2.

    June Shopping £4.50 / £300
