  • Managed 2 loads of washing mostly dried outside today. Its been lovely and warm.

I walked the puppy dog this morning and had to take my coat off it was so warm ! She found a ball whilst rooting around in the long grass on the common so she was very happy and carried it all the way home. :D We have lost so many tennis balls where she runs off and hides them, daft dog is supposed to be a retriever !!! but when I throw the ball for her she rarely brings it back. Daft dog.

I got one lot of bedding and towels washed this weekend as well as mine & DS's work clothes. It's supposed to be nice the next few days so I will try and get caught up with washing the rest of the bedding and freshen up our throws from the living room too. I've put most of it away just a few bits will need ironing.

Hoovered the dog room carpet and the kitchen floor and the sofas this afternoon. Blooming dog hair gets everywhere. Also mopped kitchen floor. Daft dog chased the dry mop around the floor before I shut her out of the room and started washing.:rotfl: I use zoflora and buy it on offer, its supposed to be dog safe once its dried. The one I have at the moment is pink grapefruit and smells lovely, better than wet dog smell :p

Back to work tomorrow.:( I made a big pasta bake this afternoon and have portioned some up for DS lunch tomorrow and the rest I have frozen. We should have enough food left until payday.

Well done on washing and also on tidying and cooking. I will try to cook something tomorrow. I am so envious of all your walking. How is your voice holding up?

Im doing the last bit of work marking & lesson prep tomorrow but hope i can have a bit of free time. I go back the day after you. It's nearly payday and summer so we have something to look forward to.

I got washing dried on the line as well today, it was lovely to see it flapping in the breeze!

Back to school tomorrow for another long, probably quite dull, inset day. We don't actually do any CPD, it's just interminable meetings, and as a very small school, there are only 5 of us sitting around the table!

I've just worked out this months budget and I have a large surplus as there is no council tax this month usually £140 and there is only 1 water bill this month, the other is paid over 10 months (I think) at £33.11.

I am going to put some money into my emergency fund and pay extra off my 0% credit card I just need to work out the amounts.

I've not been feeling well over the last few days and had ear ache yesterday so spent most of the day laying down :( I was meant to meet friends in cost-a-lot yesterday but didn't feel well enough to go. I had a KFC last night paid for out of my entertainment budget - it was free delivery so I couldn't say no :rotfl:

Feeling a little better today. Managed one load of washing dried outside yesterday but the forecast is for rain today.

Decluttering Week 9 - cleared a pile of receipts and went through a pile of junk mail in living room. Lots in the bin or to recycling.

February update on New year resolutions

    1. decluttering going well
    2. budgeting for entertainment still on target
    3. catching up on health checks continuing:

    ENT appointment - done
    speech therapy - continuing
    ladies health check - done
    mammogram appointment - next week
    diabetes check -done
diabetic retinopathy eye test - done

still to do - dentist and optician/sight test

I fell back to sleep after posting around 7am and woke up at 10am feeling better. I put on my waterproof coat and trousers, hood up and wellies on and walked the dog in the rain and howling gale. She had a lovely time :rotfl:

Week 9 declutter - forgot to add I finally got around to cutting up old Christmas cards with pinking shears to make tags for presents.

I found a toad in the hole in the freezer and had that with veg for lunch. Now sat on sofa with dog curled up beside me in front of TV. May have a snooze myself :D

Urgh, earache is the worst, glad you're feeling better now. The dog sounds like she's enjoying the weather at the moment even if you aren't :rotfl:

That's fab news on having some extra money to throw at debts this month - last year I changed our council tax DD to pay over 12 months to allow us to budget a bit better. Whilst it's nice to pay a little bit less each month, I certainly don't notice the small monthly reduction nearly as much as I used to notice the 2 months where I got an extra £140!!

  • Ear ache has gone now thanks Pink.

Not much to report on the MSE front, its a very quiet month. I'm trying for mainly no spend days and nothing on credit card this month.

It was windy and sunny here yesterday so lots of washing done and line dried. DS & his gf walked the dog. I hoovered & tidied. Pizza and ribs from aldi for dinner so no takeaway.

Its been raining this morning and is blowing a gale today. Poor puppy isn't liking the noise with everything blowing about, she ran out to the loo and dashed back in again !

Decluttering week 10 = glass jars to bottle bank. More receipts sorted/shredded/binned. Emptied a bag of DS's clothes in kitchen - hoovered & sellotaped them to remove dog hair. Now in washing machine & hoping to hang out later.

DS pays his bills/food money on 15th and I can then make a payment onto 0% credit card & hopefully put some money in my emergency fund.
