    Hello all,

    I've not managed to post at all today but have been keeping a beady eye on you all ;)

    I submitted my application for the job at the weekend and spent lunch time today uploading some extra work samples to my online portfolio. I did a bit of rearranging at the weekend moving all the more relevant stuff to the top and removing some stuff that isn't their market at all. No word as yet.

    Breakfast and lunch was from stores today supplemented with free cake and popcorn. We did order an Indian takeaway tonight though as we are both feeling ill (headache/nausea.) I tried to be strong and insist on having the chicken and chips I had planned, I even had the chicken out of the fridge, and then discovered that the teens had eaten all the chips :(

    It was lovely though to not have to cook when we were feeling a bit poo, I lit the fire and we attempted to watch some TV but the reception is terrible here (and I refuse to get Sky) so we're tucked up in bed feeling sorry for ourselves and I'm loving every minute of it!

    I've logged onto my account and have transferred the money from my mum plus an extra £100 from me (in addition to my usual £150 overpayment) to my mortgage account so I now have four months mortgage payments saved :T I'm so proud of myself :o I like the sound of the co op bank, I think they are quite ethical too but I live in my overdraft for most of the month so need to clear that before I can think of moving as I'm pretty sure they'd call it in if they got wind of me moving. (I know it doesn't make sense to have my meagre savings when I have an overdraft but I wanted to know I can pay my mortgage for a few months if nothing else!)

    Hope you are all having a lovely evening and fingers crossed for the biopsy, Ziggy :)

    Hi January Jubilants,

    Operation Sanity is in place here today. The Dowds had a lovely time at the folk concert but I felt listless yesterday and mentally couldn't get off the sofa, so today needs to be different and I will be playing List Roulette. I have about 14 things to do and I'm going to use an online random number generator (Link) to decide what job to do first etc. This will stop me avoiding the jobs I don't want to do.

    However, I will go out for a walk about 7.45am down to the marina and watch/photograph the sunrise. It's pouring with rain so I'll need a brolly for the photograph-y bit. The climb back up the hill will warm me up and the inevitiable soaking will compel me to shower thus waking me up and propelling me into the day with great gusto! That's the plan anyway.

    Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:

    * We had a very positive first Airbnb experience, we'll be using the site again, though the first registration and booking was a bit complex.

    * Also took one wee £3 Uber taxi ride in the city but this gave if I get DW to register with my referral code she can get £10 free on rides in the future which will work out lucrative for us.

    * Breakfast is three wee portions of neglected fruit.

    Items on List Roulette are:

    * Clear emails. Done.

    * Put charity sticker in car that has been sitting indoors for 4 weeks.

    * Put my medication away in my pill box to ensure I stay well. Done.

    * Look at why cooker isn't working; possibly repair.

    * Clean upstairs. Done.

    * Clean downstairs.

    * Order two photos online for empty frames DW bought me. Done.

    * Burn some treasured photos to CD to guard against loss. Done.

    * Listen to a comedy CD that's been sitting around the house unplayed for too long.

    * Sort my Finances out. Done.

    * Cancel an appointment.

    * Sort out a charity donation. Done.

    * Buy a CD online.

    * Think about DW's forthcoming birthday.

    * Sort out my nails. Look like a Gruffalo. Done.

    Morning everyone :wave:

    DNMS - thanks for the kick start yesterday.
    Ally - we did airbnb on holiday at new year - I loved it. Sounds like you are having a lovely few days off.
    Ziggy - thinking about you my dear xxxxx

    I've just checked banking/YNAB - PAYDAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! :j

    Need to transfer money from paypal too - double payday. The woman who bought my dining table at the weekend loves it and wants to buy the matching sideboard too - I might give her a nice discount so I don't need to bother listing it...that is ok, right?!

    Tonight we are going to order our new kitchen. :T Going to fit it ourselves in a money-saving attempt... :cool: Will still need an electrician and probably a plasterer and tiler (I LOVED the sound of that course you did Cheery!!). Also still need to look at flooring and fix the hole in our ceiling (no joke!!)...

    I'm going to do something not v DFW today and buy myself a longchamp bag! :D I have wanted one for ages and I found one yesterday in my favourite 2nd hand shop!!! There goes my 'fun money' for the month. :p Think it is over £100 really and it's in this shop for £30-odds. :cool:

    Oops, just realised the time - better run!

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

    Morning all :)
    Hope you soon get good news on the biopsy Ziggy, and on your OH's surgery :)
    La E, I like bags too (they always fit, don't they :rotfl:) and I always look for nice ones in s/h shops. I have a small collection that I rotate, Radley, Laura Ashley etc, all bought secondhand for a fraction of the new price :) And if a buyer you know won't mess you about wants your sideboard, I think it is worth giving a discount, you will be avoiding ebay fees of at least 10% after all, and avoid the hassle of listing :)
    Fingers crossed re the job, FVD :)

    So, for me today:
    Check the bank with the fiddly code generator thing (this tends to not get checked as often as the 'ordinary' one :o) Done
    Check for surveys A few for onepoll
    Dog walks x 2 Done
    Food from home, still have plenty in! I will make a pasta bake type thing for tonight, with stuff from the fridge and freezer :)Done, used up leftover salad and coleslaw :)
    Not a NSD, as I bought mayo, which I had used up, and cotton wool for DS's dog's ears. Also found a bargain in one of the charity shops - brand new fleece tops (one of the 'brands') for £4.50 each. Bought 2, as I love to live in jeans and baggy fleece tops in winter. Not glamorous, but very warm, comfy and practical! I will now donate one that I already have which I bought online and should really have sent back, as it an excruciating orangy pink colour and there is no way I would wear it :eek: It certainly didn't look that colour online. Luckily it wasn't expensive - though had it been, I would have been more motivated to return it!
    3 ebay parcels to post today, plus postal survey bits Done, no ebay sales today :( I have come to the end of my inclusive listings that go with my ebay shop subscription, and don't want to pay for any more. A new allowance starts tomorrow thank goodness, as it definitely affects sales if I don't constantly list new things (weirdly, even sales of things that have been listed for ages :huh:)
    Walked all journeys today :)
    Photos for ebay if the light allows (dark and wet by the looks of it again today :() Too dark to get decent photos with my phone unfortunately. If I use the flash, they don't look anything like as clear as done with natural light.
    Sort out the small, not very tasty apples I didn't do yesterday Peeled, sliced and cooked, currently cooling :)
    Check fridge to see what might want using up Not much used from a tub of HM apple sauce, so I heated it to piping hot and will refreeze. A bit naughty maybe (I wouldn't do this with anything meat based) but rules are meant for breaking, aren't they :)
    Put away spare duvet (at last :o) Done, why have I been putting this off? It took a few minutes. A bit of confusion though, I seem to have gained a large duvet and mislaid 2 small ones :think: Will investigate further.
    Had a nasty shock when I looked at my dual fuel statement, and discovered my monthly bill had doubled from last time :eek: Must be the cold weather we have had :( It is mild today though, so no heating and we haven't even bothered to light the wood stove. Must make sure everything gets turned off when not in use!

    That doesn't sound very ambitious - will check back later!
    Definitely quite lazy today :o

    Morning all :hello:

    Love the idea of a random list generator ally :j what an excellent plan :D I might do something similar at the weekend :D

    So, today...

    * had another rotten night's "sleep" so cake defences are now - stay strong and away from vending machine...
    * homemade soup and bread for lunch
    * homemade biscuits for snacks
    * cycle to work - free exercise
    * banks/ynab
    * i can't be in the kitchen between 6&7 so need to arrive home from work either early or late
    * might chop some veg before I go out thos evening to make it easier for Mr Cheery to make tea ready for when I get home
    * may paint stained bit of bedroom wall if I come home earlier
    * tot up Uber Frugal January :j :j

    Should be a NSD day for me :j :j :j Will leave decision about when to come home til later - I'm not exactly going to get there early (I'm still in bed...) but I will likely be led by my stomach, as usual... :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Have a good one all!

    Hi all,

    Wishing all well with health issues - can be a real worry but at least with have free health care available to all.

    Today I am determined
    *NSD
    *washing rotation
    *general tidy up
    *try to finish this piece of work today
    *all food from stores...might make a veggie chilli today although will check status of what veg needs using first.

    Not much from me as usual but I am allowing myself the time to do this gradually. Just keeping control of the spending is a massive achievement and super important.

    Have a fantastic day!
