Happy weekend everyone! I try to keep up with the thread as much as possible. Will need to dig out my planned UUs for February to mark progress - being a short month, I still think I should get there eventually.

Working on my lists - actually not really - I have had them in an Excel spreadsheet for over a year now LOL, but I'm not going to paste it all here. I'm at about 150 items right now, will go into more detail later.

Interesting discussion re: expiry dates, I know for a fact that none of my items are older than 3 years, most of them actually just about a year old or less, because that is when my obsessions with all things skincare etc started - been watching too much Youtube, blogs, vlogs, everyone talking about their holy grails made me run out and buy it.

Ironically, I don't think I can actually TELL what the products are doing though, so not at all sure I'm getting my money's worth. I like the look of some (packaging-wise), others I like the smell and SOME I can see/feel my skin being smooth afterwards, but that's it... I'm a victim of good marketing

Sometimes, it's when you stop using a product that you notice its effect.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Advertisers are getting clever they know word of mouth means more than a flashy banner these days, so finding your holy grail is often a case of trying to find your way between all the other influences saying "buy me"

    [STRIKE]Pears Soap [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Nivea Cream 200ml tub
    [/STRIKE]Superdrug pro vit E Classic shampoo 400ml
Superdrug Exfoliating face mask Cfwd from Jan's PP
[STRIKE]Avon advance techniques dry ends serum[/STRIKE]
    Aussie leave in conditioner
[STRIKE]Clinque smart custom repair serum sample [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Lush Never mind the Ballistics [/STRIKE]
Baylis & Harding Shower gel 500ml

Still no movement on the PP list, have replaced the tub of Nivea with a 3 year old B&H Body lotion again from inlaws :o and despite it having a seal still on it when I opened it, when I rub it in, it appears to have grainy lumps to it which feel a bit crystalline, very odd!

I have a UU from my 5 by spring. UU UD Baked Cowboy 0.5g eye shadow from the shadow box palette, loved this colour but have loads of other shadows to UU. I have decided to give myself an additional challenge for 2017. I have one more shadow that should be UU before the end of the month, and more than 12 that have pit pan. So my challenge to myself for 2017 is to UU 12 shadows before the end of the year I'm calling this no. 1, 11 more to go.

Plus my 5 by spring - 1 item left
1 - UU - UD Baked Cowboy eyeshadow
2 - UU -a tube of hand cream - TBS Strawberry Hand Cream 30ml
3 - a lip balm again I have a few open - 2 of them are nearly finished
4 - UU - Snow Lush Castle soap
    5 - UU - A Travel sized Body Lotion - NUXE Huile Prodigieuse 30ml

    Hopefully more UU soon

Still items left from autumn and christmas challenges and my 2 February PP items.

My only UU is a tube of Sensodyne. I love this stuff. I can currently brush my teeth with cold water without wincing. Otherwise I am behind with my UU targets. It is so cold that the idea of faffing about with beauty products when I could be tucked up under a blanket is not appealing!

I have recently been sent a lot of high-end products to review and have been really surprised by how meh so many of them are. I used an £18 hand cream that left my hands in worse condition than my usual Aveeno one. I had a £20 shower gel that was horrible and had an ingredients list almost identical to the £3 shower gel in my cupboard. The problem is it can be hard to find reviews by people who aren't sponsored and aren't influenced by brand names and packaging. I used to watch a lot of YouTube beauty gurus, but so many of them have clearly made their mind up about a product before they even open it because it is a cool brand. I remember years ago there used to be a TV show where they got ordinary women to review products, but they would decant them into plain containers first. It was interesting and I remember some of the women being gobsmacked when the product they didn't like came from a brand they usually rave about.

    A few UUs, yay!
    - Kedma lifting serum (sold to me as an eye serum). WDNBA - dried sticky tight, and didn't seem to do anything. Good riddance!
    - sample White Company Day perfume. WNB.
    - erborian CC creme 5ml sample. WDB - this is amazing! I've never seen the point of BB or CC creams before, but this is an amazing lightweight skin perfector. It leaves my skin looking so balanced and natural. I'm definitely in love with it :) Only a tiny bit needed too - 5ml lasted a couple of months easily.
    - Bomb Cosmetics bath blaster. WNBA - I much prefer bubbly things.

So 2 off the PP list so far.
    • Hand cream – any
    • [STRIKE]Kedma eye serum[/STRIKE]
    • Skyn Iceland eye cream
    • Elemis eye and lip makeup remover
    • Rituals body scrub
    • Face scrub (can't remember the brand)
    • Monu primer
    • [STRIKE]Erborian CC crème[/STRIKE]
    • Elemis body wash
    • Bio Oil
    • Organic Surge body cream
    • M&S night/sleep cream
    • Kedma night cream (which I hate, am using it as a foot cream)
    • Lip balm - any
  • wet n wild concealer in light in. I think it is too dark.It might have a mistaken purchase as it is rather medium. I bought a second bold metal brush 100 as it is my favourite, so fast at finishing skin.

I seem to be returning to my long held belief make up and skin care are like a house spend the money on the unseen things foundation, insulation and the like. I seem to spend little on lip pencils and mascaras, while i spend a fortune on skincare.
  • Hello everyone!
Got my first INs of February:

    1. REN Moroccan Rose Otto Body Lotion - freebie from my mum, she's developed a reaction to this
    2. Radox Matcha Green Tea and Coconut Water Body Wash - no excuse, just smells lovely!
    3. Collection Clear Mascara - I use this as brow gel and the Benefit one from my PP is running out.
    4. Rimmel Brow This Way Brow Sculpting Kit, Medium Brown - Not happy with my eyebrows at the moment and thought I'd give this a go. It has a wax in it which I haven't used before.

    And some UUs!
    4. B. Pure Sensitive Micellar Wipes WBA. These are really soft, and wet. Plus they have the clicky top so they don't dry out.
    5. Primark Amber Wood and Rose candle WNBA - no scent once lit. The Primark ones are normally really good for the money but this one was a dud.
    6. CKIN2U EDT 100ml. Off my PP list! WBA. I've worn this perfume every winter for at least 6 years I think!

Hope everyone's keeping warm this weekend! I'm off to town tomorrow to try and find some clothes and shoes for work and some new jeans. If that's as stressful as I normally find it there may be more INs!! :)

    Hi all

not been on for a couple of weeks and I have had a yucky cold however on the mend again and my skin is in need of some serious TLC. I am planning a pamper day today as we have a 4 day weekend. Friday I just had some R&R o try and get rid of this cold, yesterday I went shopping and stocked up on healthy foods etc to build me up again and today my plan is to recondition my skin.

Am also hoping to colour my hair and defuzz so a few products may be used up today.:rotfl:

I have already used up the following in January/February:
    - Eyeliner No7 brown
    - Lush snow fairy shower gel
    - S&G clean on me shower gel
    - No7 good earth eye palette

Things are going really slowly for me this month. No UUs to report however repainted NY finger and toe nails yesterday. Am wearing OPI Five and Ten on my fingers and OPI Got the Mean Reds on my toes.

I used Loreal Project Queen liquid lipstick this week but not overly keen on it. It's Emma's in any event so can't TA. Last night I wore one of her Anastasia lipglosses called Date Night. Love these. Will wear it more this week.
