  • used up dr brandt detox moisturizer and philip kingsley heat protection spray. I liked the heat protection spray as dis not feel sticky.

i started using bielenda super power mezo serum and it feels really nice. it has high amounts of mandelic and lactobionic acid. It also has a lot of niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate. I used it after the caudalie premier cru and neostratra acid pads.

Repainted my finger nails yesterday and have decided I don't love the colour so it's going. Also the colour I was going to wear had dried up so TA:-

Full size OPI French Quarter for your Thoughts
Mini sized OPI Tickle my Frances. The top was wedged on as it had dried so much. I do however love this colour and have a full size.

Also today will TA two lipglosses. They are the squeeze tube type and I prefer wand application. Have had these years so don't feel bad about letting them go:-

    Smashbox Candy
    Smashbox Star

Finally, have GA a Nivea lip balm to MRM. He's full of a cold at the mo and his lips are really dry and cracked. I was using this one at work but it made my lips really dry. Have a Nuxe pot in my handbag and need to make more effort to apply this.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

RE use by dates on products, im also still using products from years ago. I have bubble baths and stuff stashed (mostly avon ones) that have got to be 5-10 years old easily, and they smell and look fine and still do the job. I occasionally will get body lotions etc that have gone off and i just re purpose them as foot creams. Ive had shower gels etc sometimes lose their scent but i just use them with a scented bath bomb to make the bubbles in my bath. Waste not want not :). Lush products toi last a lot longer than the use by date on them. Im stull using shower gels from 2014 that are perfectly fine and the same as i bought them. I know of plenty of people who use lush products years out of date, and some even say the products start to smell even better with age! I always go by if it smells and looks ok its all good... If its not i try and re purpose it. Very rare i will throw away a product.

Anyway, been in garage and found shampoo and conditioner, so will add those to PP list.

    UUs:

Lush respect your elders soap sample- WMBA, i do have a full size stashed i got in a gift set. This smells of blackcurrants and lathers up well. Not my favourite but its nice enough.

Lush no drought dry shampoo sample- WBA and already have full size. This smells lovely and fresh and does the job well. I much prefer this to spray ones.

Technically shouldnt have bought it, but i have a few more ins to come. I absolutely loved the smell of the boots extracts marshmallow & peppermint set i bought in the sales so when i found a new one on ebay for £1.99 i had to buy it. (They were £14 originally). This could possibly be my biggest bargain this year. Very naughty of me, but i shall stash them so that i have back ups if this scent doesnt come back this christmas coming. I should be making some progress through the pocketbacs and hand creams ive accumulated too once im back working which should be soon!

One teeny UU of 3ml Pestle & Mortar Hydrate lightweight moisturiser. I have one more to use and I absolutely love this, although it is described as lightweight for me it is still very moisturising .

I have just checked expecting this to be uber expensive and find that it is £38 for 50 ml free delivery, this will go onto my "buy when all other (insert name of substance) has been UU list"

    A cheeky IN arrived today:

Nip+Fab Kale Protecting Shot I was interested by this, and I need some more umph to help hydrate my skin. It's a bit dehydrated lately, and a moisturiser isn't cutting it. Also the Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Creme is causing me a bad reaction so I can't use that any more.

Re items over 11 years old. I've often thought that use by dates are hyper-cautious. I think one of my lipsticks is about 23 years old and it's still usable. I also have a small amount of Sudocrem in a pot my late friend gave me - I think the use by date was about 8 years ago, the label went sometime in the Noughties.. !
Those are exceptions, and yes, stuff does go off, or the containers degrade, but generally I don't pay much heed to 'use-bys.' 'Best before' would probably be more appropriate for the majority of toiletries and cosmetics.

The expiry dates are so odd. I have several bars of soap that had 12 months on them. I have never seen a bar of soap go off! These are mass-produced ones BTW. I can sort of understand being more cautious with hand-made ones which might have some weird and wonderful ingredients in them. The only products I do find that go off are creams and lip glosses. I recently went through my moisturiser stash and found several that were smelling awful. I have sensitive skin so they had to go in the bin.

    Two UUs

    9) Neutrogena hand cream - not my favourite, but WBA if it was on special offer.

    10) Garnier Moisture Bomb night cream - WNBA. This was utterly awful. This was recommend to me because I have dry skin. On the first day I used it my skin felt tight, but I thought I ought to persevere. On the second day my skin went all flaky and there were tiny lines all over my face (I don't usually have any lines). I tried to use it up as body lotion, but my legs started to get dry and itchy from it. ARG!

P.S. I forgot a couple of naughty ins from the Boots clearance shelf. One Herbal Essences shampoo for 75p and a bottle of Time Delay Micellar Water for 90p.

    Thanks for the nice welcome!

The Garnier body lotion is called HydraLock - I don't want to enable anyone but if you haven't got enough body lotions and are looking for something for dry skin, give it a go - it seems to have really good reviews too.
I only use body lotions in winter (or as after-sun) as I never feel my skin (body) is particularly dry - so the season to use this up will be over soon...

Even before I declare my stash I have 3 INs to declare - I used a sample of REN 1 minute facial rinse for the first time last week and really liked the effects, so I went on one of the many beauty selling websites I frequent all too often and purchased a glow set - also includes a glycolic acid mask and a cleanser that's meant to be good, and the price was really considering the amount of the facial rinse I got.

Aiming to post my lists at the weekend...
