NST February Challenge : A Winter Voyage

Hi everybody
Just coming on night time duty, still sat below decks with a cup of tea because it's cold out there!!
No spending done today, but I did make some shortbread and flap jacks to eat during the week. The shortbread is way too sweet for me but I will know to cut down on the sugar next time, but the flap jacks are fine.
Dd and dgd came today and stayed for dinner, which was lovely and we had a good catch up, and this morning I sorted the recycling etc, all very mundane things but that's how I like it.
So off for a wander around the decks, if I see any icebergs or mermaids/men I will let you know.

Morning turtles
Still stuck on 1 NSD as we needed milk, bread and cheese yesterday plus I got bacon to do bacon rolls for brunch.
Had a day off so went to the gym in the morning. Had planned to go a walk down the beach with OH in the afternoon but the rain came on so instead prepped this weeks meals and watched the rugby on catchup.
Should manage the next 3 days as NSDs but then away on Thursday for a family wedding - all budgeted for though
Yesterday I was grateful for a lovely day spent with OH, catchup TV and being warm and cosy inside when it's cold and wet out.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Ahoy,
wow, I missed loads. I usually can't log on or post over the weekend, my apologies. So a quick update from me and then I'll catch up on the posts.
Only up to 3 SFDs so farbut I'll catch up. Had a productive weekend wallpapering etc :j. Hubby took the kids out for a while on Saturday to a kids party which helped. Generally I'm currently in a let's just get on with it mood especially while DH wanted a jammie day on Sunday.
Also behind in healthy living and gym days. The girls in the office and I decided that January was a write off and that today is the 1st of January
. No more excuses.
Today I'm grateful for

Well Captain, I for one am looking forward to our trip at the weekend. I have the feeling today that Sirens are particularly vengeful towards me. My youngest decided to throw up in the car on the way to school which had my nsd scuppered before 8am. I had to buy emergency cleaning equipment, and an emergency car valet. Also now have a day confined to the cabin, which isn't good for mental health when I should be at work. DS is sleeping soundly at the moment so I can have a day of damage limitation on the money front. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

To Hull and back....
Absent for 3 days at events so have kept an eye on spending while there.
Conclusions:-
I buy too many biscuits and chocolate at cheap shops...
Beggars with dogs will always get a quid from me. (Beggars with cats would get more, just saying.)
I have a habit of giving more money to charities during the month.
And will always buy fancy, artisan chocolate for the ones I love
Things I'm grateful for:
That there was someone to go and buy me Immodium on Saturday
The beauty of Hull.
A roof over my head that I don't have to share. (Let's keep it that way, eh?)‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Afternoon Crew
Some shore leave today. It was a beautifully crisp and cold so we walked along the river into the city centre, It was a lovely peaceful walk on a Monday morning.
C took me for lunch and, as he had a voucher, he saved the £14.50 which mine would have cost. They gave us another voucher to be used before Thursday so he wants to go again on Wednesday. Good because he’s paying but afraid I’ll have to request some extra shore leave. I managed to resist having wine and just drank water. However, I did succumb to the lure of the coffee and hazelnut ice cream. It was just too good to miss. I’m not having anything else to eat today so please don’t keelhaul me.
Seem to be steering a steady course on all the other goals (first weigh in on Thursday morning).
CCL – Hope the little cabin boy is feeling better.
Today I’m grateful for;
A lovely lunch
Not having to make dinner (cabin boy is having pizza whilst gaming)
Nice warm house (it’s freezing outside now)Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
