Try their website - our local one's says which toiletries they are desperate for but have always taken other things as well even if they are not on the list in my personal experienceOtherwise homeless shelters, refuges and babybanks are also all fab causes - and all count as someone lost at sea for this month's challenge

Evening me hearties!
Tutoring done. £ earned
Then spent again on groceries - £36.50 of monthly budget spent so far. Now relaxing in my jammies and waiting for bedtime to tick round. I've put the kidney beans on to soak and am just deciding whether or not I need to hoover, or if I can leave it until tomorrow.
Nothing much else to report other than my gratitudes...
1. An inspirational post from the Captain
2. Yellow sticker goodies
3. My big freezer with loads of room in itNot giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

That is an epic post abundant.
The overspend is due to a car on which I am haemorrhaging money. I do a decently big commute so my 11 yo motor suffers.
NSD today and swabbed the decks (well, mucked out the pony).0 -
Grateful for:
1. My son's fever has gone and he's feeling better
2. My OH is no longer working Saturdays so we can have a family film night
3. Lots of cuddles from my 4 year old
Spent very little today ( I do NSDs and LSDs - low spend days!)0 -
Lovely positive things to be grateful for, SkintTeacher
Today is one of my shoreleave days - OH and I are off to the cinema to see Trainspotting T2 later with cheap tickets pre purchased and snacks/ drinks will be taken in with us so will still maintain the NSD todayFood today all from stores, including leftovers to ensure minimal waste in the greent cabin
Cleaning bug hit enough for me to wipe down the galley worktops and windowsills - and that was about it!Must try harder tomorrow!
Today I am thankful for:
* an unexpected visit from my favourite aunt - cue a couple of hours chatting/ catching up over cups of tea
* Shipmate DS1 readily agreeing to babysit smaller shipmates DS2 and DS3 tonight, enabling the cinema trip
* the fun reading the posts on here

All this sea air has given me a head cold. So I will have to put a scarf on my head and sea-dog it up a bit. I am more urgh than arrrgh today.
NSD 2 as I have not left the house. In fact from 8am I have barely left the sofa.
Grateful for
1. Getting up at 6am and having the baking finished before my cold realised I was up.
2. Lemsip - even though it is nasty
3. more lemsip (see above)
4. Having bought extra boxes and packets of tissues in a rare display of precognitive preparedness.

Welsh Kitty 85 Hope your DH can find work. What job does he want ,? maybe someone on here is from your area and knows of something . Just a thought
Thank you. He is looking for work as a lorry driver. Unfortunately it seems the months of training and 5 seperate tests don't count for much as he doesn't have experience. I don't understand how people get experience if nobody will give them a chance in the first place :mad:0 -
Today I am grateful for getting a run done in the rain and the mud (arrived home splattered in mud, so it proves I really did go for a run!), for the rugby, for getting some crafting done (bunny creme egg cosies this time), for a really good chat with big sis and sorting out another care home visit for Fri, for dh taking dd to dance and thus giving me time to run and shower.
Thank you abundant for taking the time to comment on all of us.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Ahoy Shipmates!
Despite the rough conditions at sea, and the storms blowing in - 3 more crew members have braved it here to be with us on board! I know you'll make them feel welcome and give them lots of deck-swabbing to do hahaarrrrr!EagerElephant – There ye be! Tis good to have ye on-board. I see you have your signature and budgets set. Ye goals be good – and I think, once you have reworked your budget and can see how long it’ll take to clear yer debts – it’ll feel like yer more in control. Definitely prioritise yer turkey project as they can be earning cash to clear the debts quicker. That be a nice charm too – ask yer nan for some inspiration.
Crazy_Lady2009 – SS Abundant to CrazyLady <hiss – crackle> Are you reading me? Over! <hiss – crackle – hello!> Arrrrgh! There ye be! Aye – the storm not be helping our communications – but I’m glad ye be on yer way. Get yer radio up and working and come land whenever ye be ready! What be yer ‘ClimbingTheRigging’ fund haharrrr!!! Made me smirk! Well done for getting here despite a rough start to the month!
Bizzie – Ahoy there!!! Ye landed with us then me hearty! That’s a fine signature – well done for getting it up and running. I be looking forward to seeing yer goals in a day or two – once they’re on parchment – they become real, and ye can make steps towards achieving them. Welcome aboard!Thank you for all your kind comments! I'm actually rather enjoying myself haha! You're all making excellent progress, and well done on the NSD's rolling in. I won't be commenting on every reply each time - but will be keeping a beady eye on your progress and any slips! I too have my charm by my keyboard - and I am hoping it will become something that proves useful.
Today, I am grateful for:-
Getting back on track with my budget
-
The results showing from my time at the gym
-
The house to myself again for the weekend
I have to say - it feels like I've been lost in a financial fog slightly after a great start. Somehow, all my budgets got blurred and it's taken me the best part of an afternoon to track where my money went this month. I drew out 2 lots of cash but then it got messy as some was for food, some spends, some for savings etc. So - after several painstaking hours and a bit of reshuffling my budgets are updated. There's 7p unaccounted for which drives me mad haha but I'll live!!! Managed a gym session and an NSD so very pleased!!! Chores all done - planning a walk, and some cooking tomorrow for next week. See y'all in the morning! x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
